Hey There! Any December 2021 Surgery Friends?

Check with the anesthesiologist. I don’t think I would want anything extra in my mouth. I woke up when they were removing the tube and it was a bad experience. I don’t think it happens that often though, so don’t be afraid.

I had my sleeve on May 17th. In January, I weighed 385. I started preparing and had my first bariatric meeting with the surgeon around mid March. My weight when I started my 2 weeks of shakes was 362 and my surgery weight was 342. I track almost everything I eat and I am setting at 256 right now. Kinda tough to track around the Holiday, but feel like I have a new lease on life. I danced for almost 3 straight hours on Nov 27th at my daughter’s wedding! Your stomach will be tiny which will help you while you get/keep your mind right. Do NOT cheat! Have and keep the faith in the process! If you do that you will be extremely happy and able to get back to an active lifestyle!!! :-)

Today is my 14th day postop. I feel exhausted and honestly want to break down in tears. I don’t know if being emotional comes with the surgery but I feel like giving up. I can’t get the fluids I need in and I return to work tomorrow. I feel like I can barely get up and shower. Anyone else have energy/mood changes?

I was feeling like this around day 4 or 5, but felt much better after I started my Vitamins and consistently started hitting my Protein goals. Are you certain you aren’t dehydrated? I would at least call your doctor’s office to touch base. Prayers for you tomorrow.

I had mines on the 14th as well. I also had a hard time with the pain medication but my dr prescribed new ones that were more effective. I have absolutely no appetite either and I am also still feeling really nauseous. My dr says it’s part of the process…I’m getting so discouraged though bc I can’t get my fluids in and I can’t get my Protein in.

Don't get discouraged. With time it will get better. I am finally feeling better after. I still have a hard time getting my Protein in

I got my surgery date for the sleeve for December 22, 2021 in Sebastian, Florida. Let's get through the pre stuff together.

I just did mine at Sebastian last week. Biggest advice...walk walk walk right after. That gas pain caught me by surprise! Message me if you need anything!

Thanks for the advice. Who was your surgeon? Mine is Dr. Domkowski. I go in tomorrow at 8:30. A little scared.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
