I would be happy to answer any questions....thats really why I wanted to post on here because I had a ton of questions too and it was hard to find someone who had been pregnant with the band.

I wanted to post some before and after pictures on here, does anyone know how to post the picture where you don't have to click on the link to see it? I want the picture to just show in the post.

Brandi, this was the greatest post! To think the Band kept you from gaining weight, I mean 11 pounds ain't nothin' when you're talking pregnancy. And you're already losing again, that's about as fabulous as you look right after giving birth! Congrads to you and Mr. Baby. What a nice post :D

Ok, you are my bandster role model. I"m getting banded in Mar of 2005 and want to get pregnant once I get pretty close to my goal weight....I figure I need to wait at least a year.

All the info that I have researched has said that bandsters still have successful pregnancies, but seeing the pic of your beautiful, healthy baby boy speaks volumes.

Any advice you care to pass along?

Congratulations! I know you aren't going to have much time to post! :D

My advice would be just to eat healthy while you're pregnant. I ate lots of small Snacks (fruit, cheese and crackers, etc.) so that I knew I was eating enough but not gaining weight. I can't deny that I had the occasional huge peice of cheesecake or king size candy bar....I just tried really hard not to go overboard. Also, I found an OBGYN who was familiar with the lap band and had actually had a few patients before me who were banded and pregnant. So that helped a lot. If your OBGYN doesn't know much about the band, I would get as much information together as I could and print it out for him/her so they can familiarize themselves with it.

Brandi, That's so great Congrats on the baby and not gaining a ton of weight back!! That is one big reason I picked the band, so it would be easier when having children...did the take out your whole fill when you were pregnant or did u keep part of it? Did the band affect anything in that way or were you good to go for 9 months?? Hope you dont mind me asking but i've never met anyone who actually had a baby after banding....thanks ;)

I kept all of my fill. My doctor said that they would just keep a close watch on how well the baby is growing and that would tell them if I'm eating enough. The baby grew fine throughout the pregnancy so I didn't have to have any of my fill taken out. Some doctors do recommend that you have your band unfilled when you get pregnant, but mine thought I would be fine and she was right. The band didn't affect anything to do with the pregnancy other than not letting me gain weight. This pregnancy was actually a lot easier than my last one when I gained a ton!

Welcome CARTER!! Brandi its so great that you are posting for those of us still wanting to have babies. Your success is a HUGE testiment to the band. What a beautiful baby boy & so healthy. Its also wonderful to hear that you didn't have to be unfilled & Carter still grew up to be such a bouncing baby boy! Great job & congrats! Keep updating with new photos please.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
