OH yes! I am sitting her on lunch now with A bite of a Salmon Patty stuck in my Chest! You really have to slow down.... I will learn eventually because this adjsutment was the real, "real adjustment"

I can eat 5 to 6.5 oz at a time but i need to really slow down.

Never up chucked until this last adjustment... (ok just ran to bathroom @ work) my problem is swallowing too many bites behind each other and my pipe gets backed up...

but anyway I am good I eat between 600 and 800 calories a day log in a journal... this really makes a difference... only work out 3 to 5 dys a week at gym... My concern w/ some of my lapband peers is the amt of calories some consume so early!... once in awhile I have a cheat day like christmas but I can only eat so much!.. I have never even gotten close to 1100 calories at our stage if you consume 800 to 900 cals you WILL LOOSE 14 to 18 lbs a month! all my peers at work have the same loss records... there are 5 of us who had surgery w/ in 3 mos of each other

GOOD LUCK...

dlyrical - You're doing great! How's it going since your 2nd fill. I noticed you have 7cc in a 14 cc VG band. I have the same band, but with only 3 cc's. I'm hoping to get another fill next month. Do you have much restriction so far?

Keep up the good work.

SORRY I RESPONDED ON LAST PAGE>>> Thanks You will be great after you get closer to half full.... You will stay full longer and not snack as much:lol:

Please try to remember that there are people on these boards (me, for instance) who do not have much restriction yet and who do NOT lose 14-18 pounds a month. You make it sound like we aren't doing it right if we aren't. I can easily eat over 1100 calories a day. I am hungry if I don't. And I, too, work out 3 to 5 times a week. That is how it is and I can't eat 600-800 calories a day and survive at the restriction I am currently at. There are a lot of variables- starting BMI, number and size of fills. I am happy for your good losses, but when you make declarative statements like "You will lost 15-18 pounds a month" it really hurts those of us who aren't. I got the surgery because I couldn't stick to a low cal diet because of hunger. The band is supposed to allow me to cut calories and not be hungry. So far I'm not there yet and I hate feeling like I am to blame.

KBinaz - keep your head up. I lost alot at first then slowed to a crawl and now it has started to pick. The thing that I have learned is that we all have our own journey (what gets us stuck, how much we can/should eat, etc.)

It will get better for you....Good Luck.

Im in AZ too.

I have heard from family acquaintances comments to the affect of "she took the easy way out" referring to the surgery. Well I am here to tell them that it is certainly not the easy way. Sure - I have been successful but the band is only a tool, not the fix all.

I am speaking ONLY on behalf of myself and my opinions, and of my own personal experiences. I too am eating only 800 - 900 calories a day. I have now had 3 fills - the last being one week ago; for the first time I have the restriction that I have been expecting all this time. I have been very, very hungry, but have chosen to limit my intake to achieve my goals. Sure, I have slipped once in a while - but the vigilance, and hunger has paid off. For myself, I find the Protein shakes (and consuming a minimum of 50 grams of Protein a day) helps me keep the hunger-shakey feeling away - even though it felt many times like my stomach was going to eat my backbone.

I've lost 35 pounds since surgery on 10/25. I lost about 20 before surgery from the begining of my journey. woo hoo.

I'm averaging about 2lbs per week right now.

Dr. is happy with my progress. He'd like to see me at 3-4lbs a week or at least 10lbs per month, but he's happy. So am I. Loving the band!!!!

Well, today is a pretty big red letter day!

Today I went to my Doc and I have officially reached half way :scared2:

I always feel its more accurate on his scales LOL!

I had plateau-ed recently, so I'd begun an Optifast 2 meal a day plus salad tea, and I think that coupled with finally moving my butt shocked my system :wink2:

I have now bought a few clothes and, feel so relieved, its going to work, I can do this!! I have also tossed a few old big things out too - how good did that feel, wiping THAT dust from my feet:biggrin2:

I received my 6th fill last friday (02/08/08) and am real tight now. And I'm beginning to lose: I'm down 5 pounds in this past week. It's kind of hard not being able to eat anything until evening but I can live with it if it gets me started on my weight loss. I have always had my fill and a week later could not feel them. So I hope this one stays around awhile.

Valerie :biggrin2:

I HAD MY FOURTH FILL ON 2/13 AND I AM NOW AT 2cc'S I THOUGHT THAT IS WHERE I WAS BEFORE BUT IT WAS ONLY 1 1/2. I FEEL A DIFFERENCE IN RESTRICTION WITH THE LAST FILL.;) I NOW NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MORNING AND NIGHT... I DON'T HAVE AS MUCH RESTRICTION AT NIGHT.:tt2: I HAVE TO BE REAL CAREFUL. I HAVE LOST 70.5 POUNDS, 15lbs PRE-SURGERY. I AM EXERCISING AND BEING VERY CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT I EAT!!! I ATE A PEICE OF pizza FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY, CRUST AND ALL, IT WAS VERY GOOD!!! BUT I JUST HOPE IT DOESN'T SHOW ON THE scale ANYTIME SOON!!!

lherstein- you're doing great. I can't believe that they've let you have 4 fills already. I've lost about the same as you and have only had one fill so far (I'm so needing another). Where I have my fills, they won't give you a fill if you've lost on average 2 or more pounds per week. I'm just now starting to fall below that. In fact I haven't lost anything for over 2 weeks now and I can't get in for a fill for about another 3 weeks. The clinic I go to is always booked solid for 4 to 6 weeks. In fact they're already booking into April.

I hope this fill works for you. Good Luck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
