More surgery delays due to uptick in Covid-19

Texas has stopped all elective surgeries due to high hospitalizations due to Covid-19. I suspect other states with big resurgence of cases will do the same, Hope it doesn't happen to any of you but be prepared. Your surgery date may get postponed.

I was afraid of this happening.

I am afraid too. Mine is on the 14th, so I'm hoping they hold off for two more weeks here in Alabama!!! [emoji51]

I was pretty bummed at first when I figured out my surgery wouldn't be until the end of the year, but now...I secretly think it is a blessing. Hopefully, by then we have this sorted out...

Yes, my surgical center sent me a notice about it in an email (I'm in Houston). I am glad I did mine in May - even though all my family and friends were against it & I had no support about it. ? I was supposed to get it in April, but they postponed mine until May... I had a feeling things might shut down again.

Anyway now my family admits I was right to do it when I did. ?

Sorry to anyone who has to wait longer.. Hopefully it won't last too much longer. ?

I am hopeful my state (Washington) doesn’t stop elective surgeries, ours was the first to have COVID in the country. My surgery is next week on July 7. Already been waiting more than 6 months and 1 week into my pre op diet.

Just holding on for 1 week ??????

Texas hasn't banned all elective surgeries again, right now it's just 8 counties (Bexar, Dallas, Harris, Travis, Cameron, Hidalgo, Nueces and Webb). My doctor is in Travis but the hospital is in Williamson, so I'm currently still in for July 23 (fingers crossed, I think). I do worry about getting COVID while I'm at the hospital though.
