I know its tough i have to feed my children and I see all this food pass me by that i can't have. I think it's mostly the texture I miss. I had gone back to my doctor hoping he would change something now that its been a week but the nurse wasn't having it. I know i just have to be patient but everything smells so good 😭

You are soo right, everything smells delish! I talked to the dietician on the phone today and asked her about whether I can start purees sooner, she said it is better to stick the liquids for a faster and safer healing process. That made sense so I am being patient.

Yeah i agree yesterday I liquefied some tofu and squash Soup and I noticed I was having more then i should and that i wasn't even actually still hungry so I stopped but then of course started reading about leaks and panicking. Clearly I am fine but it helped to remind me to pace myself. This heat also isn't helping 🥵

So has anyone that has surgery tomorrow felt sick from having to drink the Magnesium Citrate for the bowel prep. This stuff is so sweet and thick n lemony I have been fighting throwing up for hours. I just don’t understand why we have to do this. This two week diet feels like some cruel punishment for being fat. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 Am and I feel like sh t and I have a crazy headache and I am tired of being tortured 😩and I’m freakin out a bit.

how are you?

I am a newbie that has been gathering information for a few years. I was surprised to find that I had created a profile back in 2016 on here when I first was considering my options.

I finally decided not only do I need to do this...I am READY to do this! I am a self-pay, so the process has moved quickly from my initial telehealth visit on June 24th to getting the call today that I am scheduled for surgery on July 30th (no time set yet)!

I am super excited and have my fingers crossed that elective surgeries aren't cancelled between now and then. I am so ready to get rid of this extra weight!

Snappish please feel free to be very open about your journey with us. I think we all need a little more encouragement on the mental changes that have to take place to be successful.

Thank you! I will be sure to do that. I don't have to do the 10-day pre-op diet, so I am thankful for that, but I have begun to be more mindful of my food choices and have been practicing chewing things into mush. I have recruited a friend to help me with meal prepping some homemade broths and Soups for post-op. I know it will not be an easy journey, but I am trying to start off on the right foot and involving my friends and family as much as possible so they understand that tempting me with food fave's will NOT be funny. 😒

I'm 6 days post op and each day is different than the one before. Take this journey in small steps. Each day I feel stronger, more alert, and healthier. Tomorrow I begin my full liquid diet. This is only 7 days out of my life. I will focus on being kind to my stomach and providing it with what it needs so it will be kind to me the rest of my life. Thank you for y'alls openness and this platform. It is so helpful.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
