If you DIDN'T do Liquid Pre-Op what DID you do?

Hi Gang. I'm trying to decide between two surgeons. Each have pros and cons. One requires me to do 1 week pre-op liquid. The other said no need. I'm trying to decide whether this is a pro or a con. If you DIDN'T do a liquid diet can you describe your pre-op diet for me? Really appreciate it!

Don't know current weight, but I consider any loss of weight before the surgery a bonus, a pre-op liquid diet may boost that. If you do have a particular enlarged liver it wouldn't hurt to attempt to

They usually ask to do liquid because you're meant to be on liquid immediately after surgery anyway...

Personally I decided to stay my pre-op rather early I was lucky to find a Protein Shake I actually enjoyed and it kept me going for months..

After I had my bypass I literally has no desire to eat real food for months and I'm glad because I'm now below my goal weight and feeling amazing...

Most surgeons will say it is best to change your eating habits prior to surgery otherwise the surgery won't work...

Superman84... What was the protein shake you liked?

I did not have a pre-op diet because my surgeon told me that my BMI put me at a lower risk for an enlarged liver. He confirmed this with my pre-op tests. Thus, I didn't need a liquid diet to reduce my liver size. I was and continue to be on the same diet since I began my journey which is no bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, sweets. I did have to stop eating and drinking at certain times before surgery.
