Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

May I ask, what medications were you prescribed after your RNY surgery? Trying to make sure I have enough money for the meds that maybe prescribed. Thank you for the responses ahead of time!

Some pain med - I requested Tramadol over Percocet. Only needed it a couple of days and then used liquid tylenol. Some Zofran for nausea - never needed it. Omeprazole.

Then of course you need your bariatric Multi Vitamins with Iron. Also calcium citrate, Vitamin D, Vitamin B-12. All the Vitamins are OTC - the best deal you can find for multivits is here on the BariatricPal site.

My only prescription was for Protonix, but only for two months after surgery. The rest is all OTC and is exactly what AZhiker said. My Vitamin D is included in my Calcium.

Hi Superman 🙂 I was prescribed Iron, Calcium, a multivitamin, another multi Vitamin to take weekly, and B12 injections once every 3 months . I didnt have to pay anything . I was sent home with the initial months supply and then got them on prescription, but Iam in the UK, It may be different where you are .

Thank you all so much for your answers. Peggo; it's totally different over here. Most insurances will cover the surgery but anything else is your problem.

Hello, I was given my first B12 shot at hospital and this was prescribed monthly. I was also prescribed pain meds. That was it for me.

Yes , that seems a bit tough . I guess we’re lucky to get it on the NHS, and shouldn’t take it for granted , but we could possibly lose that with the new government . I hope you do ok and can get your Vitamins . Good luck .

Forgot the calcium citrate 500mg powder with I believe is Vitamin d3 in each pack.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
