Nothing tooooooo exciting here on the clothes front - Just a new lined rain coat (the lighter one from Florida was not holding up to the two weeks of rain, chill and overcast trip in central Pennsylvania + Philadelphia over Easter vacation. AND, Ms.sss, were you slender in your original wedding gown? Let's see a pic? I think a vow renewal for the new you would be WONDERFUL! This was chubby (size 14) me back in 1994. Oh well. ;[

Spring has definitely sprung because GT is wearing her pastels! Ahhhh...powder blue - one of my favorite colors to wear and decorate with...

No, i wasn't "slender", i was regluar-to-overweight when I wore my original wedding dress from almost 20 yrs ago. See first link below....It's so funny because i went through ALL my wedding pictures just now and there is NOT ONE full body shot where I am NOT wearing that wrap or have a bouquet in front of me....I guess I must have already been conscious about my size at this weight...i'm guessing I was like 140-150 or something here, slightly overweight, but not obese...yet!

The second link below is a a pic of me wearing said wedding dress I posted 3 years ago, about 4 months into maintenance.

That gigantic yellow flower is AWESOME...only second to you in that dress though. I agree with Sophie, i love that colour. 😍

Its been a while since I’ve posted any OOTD’s on here…part laziness, part no new real shopping done in months.

So…looking to wake up this thread and bring it back to its former glory when it was a trending topic for months (remember that??) As it is, it remains one of my faves threads on here (this and the food Before and After thread!)

Sooooo… here we go: for those who know me, I LOVe to try on wedding dresses (been trying to convince Mr. to marry me again for forever, but that’s another story, lol).

On a recent mini-vacay a couple weeks ago, i did just that at nowhere other than Klienfelds, NY of Say Yes to the Dress fame! And no, Randy was not there, hahahha.

I tried on maybe 10-ish dresses, but this one was my fave. Price tag: $6500 USD if you’re wondering (and no, i didn’t buy it, nor do i plan to, it was just for funsies!!).

Now your turn!!! I wanna see some clothes please!

It’s a gorgeous dress 😍

I love that blue colour too @GreenTealael. So fresh. Perfect for spring.

I’m always fascinated by how easy it often is to date wedding gowns. Sleeve shapes, frills, fabrics, shapes, wraps. Can’t wait to see everyone’s pxts of their gowns. Great idea @Sophie7713.

How did I miss you went to Kleindfield’s @ms.sss?? Who looked after you? Disappointed you didn’t see Randy. And yes, let’s push OOTD back up on trending topics. food before & after & OOTD are my favourite threads too. Let’s get some of the newer forum members posting.

Bought these pewter stretch boots a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to their first wearing. Love the reflective heel.

PS. Waffle weave blanket twinsies @Sophie7713. I love mine & keep it on my bed all year round. It’s the perfect weight during our summer when I still feel cold.

Nobody from the show. Her name was Christine. But while i was there, I actually didn’t recognize ANYONE from the show, which makes me suspect the on-air consultants are paid actors. Which is somehow a bit of a let-down!!

Gorgeous! Seeing these kind of dresses is making me crave summer. I can just see you sitting on a tropical beach at sunset in that blue dress. Your waist looks tiny!

My parents are prepping to downsize. They brought this when they came to visit me recently. Not only can I wear my high school letterman’s jacket, it’s actually roomy. And back then I thought I was fat!

Those boots are amazing! Leather skirt or pants to go with? A slinky dress? You’ll definitely need to show us what outfit you pair them with!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
