Hello Everyone!

This is a question for my fellow Lady Sleevers. My Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery is in 4 days and I got my period today. Can I still have my surgery despite me being on my period? 😓

I’m sorry to hear that, the surgery recovery is already annoying as it is. Hopefully I don’t feel too bad. 😕 Thank you for the response!

ISSUE RESOLVED: My Surgeon said that it’s very common to have your period on surgery day and it will not interfere with my surgery. Thank the lord. 🙏🏻

Yes, I just had my VSG on the 29th April and my period came the day before. Let the nurse know so that they can give you underwear and pads. I was annoyed because it was 10 days early but it wasn't a big deal. It was funny when they asked when was my last period and my reply was NOW. lol.

Good luck...

Mine is due to start on surgery day... so much fun. My nurse told me the same as above, tell the nurses day of and they'll get you what you need. And as soon as you're up and mobile afterward, you can use whatever you usually use.

I was on my period (day 3) on the day of my surgery. It’s not a problem.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
