Last Thursday I had a scratchy sore throat for a couple days. It went away. Figured it was allergies. Yesterday I started constant sneezing and no allergy meds in my arsenal would fix it. This morning I have crap in my chest, a slight cough and still a sneezing with a runny nose. No fever. This is NOT ideal for the week before surgery! liquid diet starts today and Pre-op Appointment is tomorrow. Last thing I need is a stupid cold to postpone surgery plus my medical leave is all set up with HR. Waiting to hear from my surgeon about what they want me to do. Anyone else get a cold right before surgery?

This didn't happen to me but I am a surgical nurse. I wouldn't worry about it just yet. You can go ahead and talk to your surgeon about it but ultimately your anesthesiologist will decided whether or not your lungs are in good condition for general anesthesia. I hope it clears up soon! When is your surgery?

That’s reassuring! Surgery is next Tuesday the 14th.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
