Go to the Monthly Lap-Band Support Groups and check out the groups who got banded last August, September and October 2006! Their tickers are pretty cool. Some people are down 46 lbs but a lot of people are down 100lbs plus!

I know a lot of us are discouraged and its all new now but I'm willing to bet a 12 months from now ALL of us will be jumping for joy without anything jiggling like jell-o!

Holly girl hang in there! You did not waste your money every pound lost if an win.

I don't know who said it but if we wanted it off fast we'd have picked Bypass and become Star Jones looking bobble heads (cracking me up with that one). We will do this and do it together.

I agree completely. I may only be into this for 5 weeks now, but I think its the best investment I've ever made. Even though I've been horribly hungry this week, I've still been able to control my eating. I just keep reminding myself about my financial investment and it keeps me from over eating. I only have 2 more weeks until my first fill and can hardly wait. Hopefully some of my hunger will disappear then.

It's hard to imagine what life will be like at our 1 year mark. Many others seem to be able to consistenly loose 2 pounds per week. Even if your average is 1 1/2 pounds per week, that's still over 70 pounds in a year. Now how great would that be?

Good luck to you all!

That's a good idea, I'm gonna go look at the Oct 06 tickers. I love to look at the before/after pics too! Even though this stage is a bit tedious to endure, I'm still glad I didn't have a bypass. Bobble head Star Jones - that cracked me up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
