I Survived Eating On A Two Week Cruise

  • Popular Post

I'm so excited!

I'm about 12 weeks post-op gastric sleeve and I was worried about my pre-planned two week cruise and how I would manage to eat and stay on the right track. I was so good! I didn't eat a single dessert or pasta or pizza. I had a cheese omelette every morning for breakfast, salmon for dinner every night and various things for lunch but all making good choices.

I just got back late last night and weighed this morning and I lost 2.5 pounds during my two-week cruise! Hooray! I exercised in the pool every morning and did lots of walking and stayed hydrated.

I'm just so excited that I made good choices around all that ton of food on the cruise ship and still ended up losing weight! Hooray! Yippee!

Here's a photo of me from the cruise - I've lost 25 pounds since surgery 12/11/18.

Congratulations! You should be proud you earned it. What an inspiration and great picture.

Any one have some good suggestions for a non-alcoholic cocktail? I’m going on cruise in September with girl friends. I’d like to feel that I’m part of the party at the bar but don’t want to have alcohol.
Congratulations!! ??????

Water on the rocks with a twist of lemon or lime. No one would know it isn’t vodka or gin ?

I too went on a cruise about a month ago. Obviously food is a big time plus for cruisers. Breakfast was easy i made sure i had scrambled eggs and a small portion of meat, one strip of bacon or sausage. No bread. Lunch and dinner I had smaller portions but ate what I wanted including dessert. Its vacation. What made the difference for me was not taking the elevator unless I had to. I took the stairs everywhere to work those bad choices off. I gained no weight on my cruise and even had a few drinks.

I didn't plan a cruise this year because I didn't think I could handle the food temptation. Thanks for the inspiration.
