I had my surgery on 01/24 and lost 29.7 pounds so far. I haven't had too many hunger pains as of yet, and mainly due to poor planning on my part so I had to wait a little longer to eat safely. I feel more tired than I thought I would be at this point but know it is due to low calories. I generally eat between 500-600 calories a day. I should up that number but feel nervous or worried about it. I am losing between 2-3 pounds a week and want to stay at that amount. I think if I up my calories and exercise, it shouldn't be an issue but thinking it and doing it are two different things. So far the best moment-when I came back to school after winter holiday (which was 5 weeks in China), my students were amazed how much weight I lost. They kept saying, "Wow! You are so thin." I hugged everyone of them :)

If you’re losing and being successful at that amount I’d stick with it. My nutritionist upped mine because I wasn’t losing. She thought I might be in starvation mode. But I get the scared part for sure!! I was ! But amazingly for me, it worked

Awesome job! I have lost 33 lbs since Jan 16th and am happy with that but discouraged over the air I get in my stomach when I try to eat! I then get sick. Not always when I stick to Soup, cottage cheese, applesauce etc. Maybe ots too early to advance.

I had my surgery on January 15th and I have lost 36 lbs and not one person has noticed. I am saddened by that and am concerned my scales are off. I am going to the Dr. tomorrow for a check up and will see by their scales. I have a feeling of being hungry and cannot seem to satisfy it. I am thinking of going back to shakes to get my Protein level back up. I can't eat that much and am having some challenges getting the protein in and am failing on the Water. My strength is good but I do get tired and feel weak. I have been consuming about 800-1000 calories a day. I recently ordered Daily Harvest on line and it has been a good option for food. I add unflavored Protein Powder to it and it seems to work but my mind and body needs to have something to really chew on. I guess I never realized what a foodie I was before.

I have a meeting with my dietician this week so hopefully she will give me some recipes to work on. Good luck to all.

Sleeved 1/14, I have lost 31 pounds so far, which I'll take. I currently get in 600-700 calories a day. Usually 50-60 of Protein, so I've just started to again add protein powder to things again. Wish I had thought to take measurements, but my clothes are getting looser. So appreciate all the supportive people on this site. You ROCK!

My Chinese coteachers and Chinese students noticed, NOT ONE OF MY 18 Foreign coworkers noticed. I think it may be two things: 1-They are too polite to mention it and/or 2. We are just too self-involved. Can you share a before and after picture. I did a lot of side by side collages and that was the only way I noticed.

I haven't taken any pictures. I have lost over 30 lbs and not many people say anything. I don't really care either. It will be obvious around 50 lbs but I am only concerned about me at this point.

I have realized when you are overweight, people find it difficult to tell the difference. For instance, I had my surgery on January 31st and I have lost 40lbs since pre-surgery diet. My father made a comment about how he couldn't tell at all. He can only tell my face looks smaller. So I showed him a before picture and he was like WOW. I have a cousin who made similar comment. I think it has to be drastic for people to notice. But you know what counts? I notice. I can fit into my old clothes. I have clothes in all sizes and it makes me feel better. Stay positive! Take measurements. That helps.

Yes I agree it is only about me at this point. I guess I was in denial as to how large I really was. I am excited moving forward.

I don't think anyone knows I've lost 50+ lbs total or 40+ lbs since surgery. I feel my clothes fitting so much better. I have more energy. I feel better. It will be interesting to see how much I have to lose for the people that see me every day to notice.

Congratulations on your losses! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I figure it’s probably as hard for my family to see it as it is for me! Unless I see pics side by side it’s not so drastic. But they do notice when clothes are fitting loose

Curious if anyone in the January group has begun to experience Hair loss yet?

I haven't experienced it but I am going in for a drastic cut tomorrow just to help my hair. I plan on just below the shoulders so its about a 6" cut since I've just been growing it

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
