Weight regain can happen with any type of surgery. Behavior change and the choices you make will be a factor in your outcome. There are many sleevers that have kept the weight off long term.

  • I am getting on the road to go to the hospital! Going by myself and will be there all by myself for the majority of the time until my husband comes later in the week. I have been having such an awesom

I know it’s different but it worked. I had all those electrolytes in my system. The only problem was that I held a lot of fluids like 13 lbs of extra weight. It took three weeks to get rid of that
Thanks for sharing I'm going to drink lots of Gatorade today!!

Oh that sounds so good! Definitely going to try at my post my 3 weeks clearance. My Dr’s plan has me on liquid focus until then. I envy your meal plan?. Thanks for sharing....I cant wait for real flavor.

Pureeing Wendy's chili--great idea!

Has anyone else been told to avoid tomato-based foods? I have my eye on some tomato soup but I recall my paperwork saying something about avoiding tomatoes.

Avoiding tomatoes pre op, I’ve had lots of tomato soup post op and was allowed to introduce V8 on day 14

Thanks Dub and Britt. Day before yesterday I had the idea of making Tiziki. I had all of the ingredients except for mint (I make a Persian version that requires mint). 2% Fage yogurt, cucumber with no skin, lemon juice, salt, pepper. I put everything in the vita mix blender and blended the heck out of it. It was freaking delicious! 10 seconds after this I was doubled over in pain. So I’ve been scared any vegetables ever since. I may get brave and try a little sip of this. Hopefully things go smoothly!

Britt is this the tomato basil soup you tried?

I was told to get the campbells low sodium variety for all soups

Ok thanks.

Yes this is it. It’s really good. Do you like it? There is a butternut squash one and roasted peppers tomato. Both are pretty good. Especially since our menu is kind of boring. Always looking for something new. I have had issues with solid foods and seem to revert to soups and smooth food.
I do drink carnation instant breakfast with a big scoop of protein. I get a lot of protein that way and it’s tasty.
I miss regular food. But I have been doing a taste rule. 3 spoons is a taste after that it’s eating. So I stay at about 3spoons per meal. I don’t want to really eat anymore.

I haven’t done the Carnation instant breakfast but yes I have every version of this sipping soup. I started drinking them in the preop phase and they were helping me lose weight. They are delicious!

So far I haven’t had any cravings for anything fattening. Wine was a big vice for me. I can’t imagine drinking a glass of wine right now. My stomach is too sensitive!. I am missing stuff like sushi and shrimp tacos. I guess there are worse things to be craving.

You know you have to take it easy do the taste thing I haven’t eaten many veggies unless they are cooked. Do great with carrots and cooked to death green beans. Potatoes work.
I felt good after surgery. I did a enhanced recovery protocol before I drank 32oz of Gatorade night before surgery and 32 oz a couple hour before surgery. I felt pretty good because of that.
You’ll feel better day by day and when the scale moves even better
I thought we not suppose to have anything to dring the day of surgery. My sleeve date is first week of june..it was in may but had to be postponed. Ok so what is really gatorade ok to dring before surgery. ..any reason????
