February 2019 weight loss buds

I just found a consignment store by my work that will open next month.
Right now they are taking clothes in and will give me store credit.
Works out perfectly because I still have 1 more size to go down to and then I will be out of clothes to wear.

One good thing that came from my support group last night is that they are organizing a clothing swap. We will all bring in the clothes that no longer fit us and hopefully find something from someone else that does.

That’s an AMAZING idea.
I’ll have to bring that up to my support group

It is interesting about clothes; I have a plethora of small clothes to wear because I have been moving them around with me for years. I have moved them literally 6 times from Florida, to Texas (several addresses) to Arizona, back to Florida. Never giving up hope I'd get back to my 2011 weight (healthy weight), all the while taking diet pills and never getting close. I'm almost bummed a little that I don't have a bunch of big clothes to send to Goodwill! But the good news is that I don't have to buy a bunch of clothes in various sizes as I lose the weight. I was basically living in PJs and whatever stretchy pants I could find when I was at my highest weight. Daily uniform was a huge shirt and leggings. It is exciting to be able to wear new things.

In other news, lost 1.6 pounds overnight last night! Thinking that may have had something to do with my "lady days" ending (sorry guys). Anyway, I'm at a new mini-goal so I'm happy about that!

Yesterday, TWO different people told me I "look great" so that was amazing feedback. One knew I had surgery and one did not, but neither had seen me in a while, or since surgery. Loving the positive feedback!

Oh wait... you know what? I had 2 cocktails last night. Family came in from ATL and we went to a happy hour. I sipped super super slowly and did not get intoxicated. However, wondering if this is related to dehydration/alcohol/weight loss of 1.6 pounds overnight. I'll observe and report!

Sounds like a good plan.
Well my daily weighing for this week is paying off.
Got on the scale and had another 0.8 pound loss for a total of 2 whole pounds since Monday!
Wow, this is the most I’ve lost since the first 2 weeks.
I’m completely psyched now and drinking Water like a maniac again
Wow..... if I keep this up I might actually have a week where OVER 3 whole pounds drop off!!!!!!

Lol, I know that number seems teeny to some of you guys who are losing like rock stars, but I’m cursed with extremely slooooooooow progresss.

Sheri, I am in the 3lb a week club too. Don’t get me wrong, 3lbs a week is good and will get me where I want to be, but it would be nice every few weeks to get a 4 or 5 lb loss, just for excitement.

Lol, I’ve yet to hit a 3 pound/week loss since day 13. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
At the most, I had a 2.6 pound week.
Fingers crossed this week gets me 1 more pound lost so I can finally say I dropped 3 in a week

Edit to add:  in the past I would always get extremely frustrated and beat my fists against the wall in starting a new diet/weight loss plan/exercise program because it would take me WEEKS to see any kind of loss or progress whereas other people were dropping pounds with ease.  My personal progress wouldn’t start anywhere til about week 6-8 historically.

Then I had my fabulous first 13 days post-surgery where I dropped 23 pounds then.....wham!... hit a solid brick wall.  Lost 1.8 pounds in the next 21 days.  Talk about depressing.
Now that I’ve just rounded the corner from week 8, I’m having progress again. Kinda in the exact same spot in a new plan.   Makes me hopeful that maybe I’ve broken through some kind of steel-plated barrier that my body has set in place.

Fingers crossed I’ve broken through. The next 2 weeks will show me either way

I'm in the 1-3 pounds a week club which I know is good but can relate to the frustration of wanting to lose faster. I do notice that my clothes are looser and old clothes that were snug pre-surgery fit perfectly now. I've been doing Rent the Runway so I don't have to replace my wardrobe every time I drop a size. I measure myself once a week as well so it's nice to see the inches drop especially on weeks where I've only lost one pound.

Today marks 7 weeks post surgery and I'm down 33 pounds from surgery day. Focused on getting in the Protein and amping up the exercise.

Hi Paula! Today is 6 weeks, one day for me. Your weight loss sounds steady. From my day of surgery (2/20) I have only lost 19 pounds. I started at a low BMI and am happy with my results, thus far. I don’t track my weight by week but thinking I’m losing pretty close to 2 lbs a week... I’m targeting June as when I am expecting to really see a substantial visible difference in my appearance.

I’m 7 weeks and 2 days out and have lost 27lbs since surgery. I haven’t had any long stalls, but have had 2x where I didn’t lose for 4-5 days straight. Hopefully that means my body adjusts fairly quickly.

Omg, back up 2 lbs! Ladies, do you find that your cycle really messes things up? The week leading up seems to see me put on some weight AND not only do I get hungrier, I actually seem to have less restriction. Have any other ladies noticed this too?

Yes! That is exactly what I was saying above. I lost 1.6 pounds overnight at the end of my period. Also my periods have changed since the surgery. I have had 2. This last one was really really long and crazy.

It is SO annoying! Normally I don't feel hungry until midday, but during PMS I am hungry when I wake up and last thing at night. I guess we just have to roll with it.

I’m past the age to be having my cycle, but I have read many posts about cycles coming early, often and long as well as other changes after surgery. I’m sure there’s an adjustment period as our hormones are all over the place following surgery as well as all the hormones that are released with fat breaking down.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
