Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

Yeah you're right, rather a "Come here, look what I'm packing!" that expression , I was tempted to say " Oh, did you get another piece of luggage?" Inside the Bad Evil ME is thinking "Oh a train case, scarcely qualifies as a Carry-On!"

I was thinking about what @GreenTealael posted in another thread about how we aren't the same people as before we lost weight because I'm having an unusual morning.

Before surgery, I had severe chronic back pain and often spent one or both weekend days resting in bed watching TV or on FB because I was tired, my back hurt, and the drugs I was taking for my back made me tired. I'm off the pills now, and my back pain is quite mild.

Today I got up, had Breakfast, and then my husband went back to bed. I cleaned out our disgusting screened-in porch, removing piles of leaves and dirt. Then I took all my makeup and other bathroom items off the crusty mirrored shelves, Windexed the shelves, and managed to throw some stuff out. Then I went on my treadmill for 20 minutes. I justed changed the sheets and started laundry, and I'm heading out to wash my car in the driveway instead of a carwash. In short, who am I?

This surgery and corresponding lifestyle have made my life so much better, and I'm so grateful I had it!

That is so fantastic! I have felt like that a few times, but then some type of complication comes along and b!tch-slaps me back to reality. I hope to get to where you are soon!

I can’t wait to watch that movie!

9 months post op next week and I’ve been eating pescatarian since May 1st. At this point I meal prep for 5 or so days out of the week. Honestly eating has become less stressful so I’m happy. I’m 25lbs away from goal and training for 3 races this fall: two half marathons and a full marathon. Nailing my nutrition now is a huge priority for me. People ask me about how my surgeon feels about my progress and honestly I don’t know, I’ll find out next week lol.

I'm officially a sophomore, 6 months to the day that I had the sleeve done. Been stuck in stalls for the past two months. Just can't seem to move that scale. But I'm hanging in there, getting my Water, exercising, eating 800 calories, focusing on Protein. Doing all the right things, just waiting for results. Hoping I'm not "done" and already at maintenance. It's too soon! Hoping it's just a stall. I've got 50 more pounds I want to lose. Discouraged but hopeful at the same time.

You are going to make it there! And when you do, this stinky stall will barely be a memory!😛

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
