While we’re talking about lingerie (well sort of) - anyone wear bodysuits/teddies? I bought a Spanx one about a year ago that’s got really light support, but I’ve always loved the look of them and now I’m in Normal Human Woman sizing I’m looking for recommendations. When I do searches they come back with “sexy teddies” which frequently look insane and structurally unsound - I’ve found the ones that provide a good foundation layer under a white linen shirt are basically received by guys as just as sexy as anything designed to be “sexy”. Make it figure-hugging and throw in a bit of lace and they’re onboard. I think it’s partly the novelty of it, and they like removing more layers than they expected.

What I'm looking for here is elegant, not striptease. Any suggestions?

The bold-ed part literally made me lol

We definitely are the same person.

I have been very into bodysuits lately. I seriously have Macy's website open right now (One Day Sale!) and am searching body suits. But my interest is more for work clothes, than for sexy time. Although I agree they are sexy. (Well maybe not the ones I bought necessarily)

Here are the ones I've bought and liked. I prefer thong style because panty lines. There are way more options if you're looking for the full bottom style.

Love this one, but have to pin it closed higher for work https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/astr-the-label-wrap-bodysuit/4982291

I have several other from ASTR, from Nordstrom Rack (online), but I can't link because they are apparently sold out. https://www.astrthelabel.com/search?q=bodysuit&type=product

This I bought in grey, was super cute. But full bottom vs. thong, so I returned :( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B018E6X8DC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This was so cute I kept despite the full bottom. It is just a cotton-y ribbed material, not the weird velvet it looks in the pic. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GBT5RS4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am kinda obsessed with this throw back look, old school power dressing for women. But returned due to the full bottom :( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07856R1PY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have this in Black 2 (Black 2 and White 2 are thongs, the rest are full bottom, the white is way too sheer, not work friendly, or particularly flattering for sexy times, IMO.) It's cotton-y vs. leotard-y like a lot of bodysuits I bought and returned. The pic below is me in it https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B076Z1LBDR/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

Probably way more info than you were looking for! :P

All those bodysuits are like a throwback to my high school years!

Kitty, since your bodysuits aren't foundation garments, do you like them just to avoid shirt tails?

Speaking of foundation garments... the Spanx lacy bodysuits are on sale for many of the colors: https://www.spanx.com/sale/shapewear/spotlight-on-lace-bodysuit-sale

I've found these to be incredibly comfortable. Not thong, but the lace coverage really cuts down on any VPL issues.

Do you have to take the entire thing off to pee?

Depends - I just pull the gusset aside, but if you were sizing for industrial compression rather than light compression, you might have to. And I've got a long torso, so if I'm able to do it I'd guess most people are.

Yeah, I wear them with pencil skirts, and I like the fitted look without worrying about keeping it all tucked in. I also wear compression panties under the body suit.

While we are sharing, these are my favorite compression wear

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Women-s-Comfortable-Firm-Hi-Waist-Longleg-with-Gripper/32476746

They hold you in incredibly well, and are completely comfortable at the same time, which seems impossible. They come all the way up to under my bra, so no weird fat bulges. They stay up, never rolling down. They are long enough to avoid thigh fat bulges, without being too long they show under skirts. Oh, and they are the cheapest ones out of the 8 or so I purchased (and returned!). As far as sizing, I just moved down to a M from a L

 .... Funny, when you wrote this “in five years, I want to be typing on my couch in a home I own in the middle of a weekday because my job has that sort of flexibility” , I thought hey that's me, just add with unwashed hair, in leggings and fuzzy socks! (Well technically I only own my bathroom and maybe laundry room!)

Yes to the overpurchases, I have Jerky and cheese sticks that I have toted across the country and are now in my home, as well as less wise choices like Combos and Famous Amos Cookies. Because you know, I couldn't just leave them on the plane or throw them away, nooooo

I have a low tolerance to repeating the same food, so I can no longer do the fruit and cheese plates, I ate those for years, (along with Pringles of course). The upside is I haven't eaten a Biscoff cookie for many many years, after gorging myself when I first starting flying regularly. :P

I haven’t traveled much post surgery, but when I did, I packed up so much food for the airplane and the hotel room. I threw a lot away and I brought a lot back.

And I wore one of the ASTR bodysuits yesterday, on a date. Paired with high waisted jeans

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
