Yeah, I think I'm the person that "people" are "alluding" to as being uber negative and crushing newbie spirits. Whatevs...and the Grinch's heart grew 3 sizes that day when he heard CindyLooWho quit whining about how bad she has it cuz she just got her life changing WLS.

Nooooo .... the negativity is CindyLooWho, not the "voices of reason" ....

I'm cooking prime rib tonight with mashed potatoes and gravy. Sorry, no Yorkshire pudding, I've never had it.

There's always next year! :P

Tomorrow was supposed to recreate A Christmas Story with Peking duck...but alas, himself involved friends and it evolved into Del Frisco's prime rib...UGH! *sigh*. I say that cuz like @sillykitty I can cook the fu*k out of prime rib and sides and yes, Yorkshire pudding is always involved along with "potatoes" Daphinous...or roasted cauli daphinois. So so so good. But will have that for New Year's Eve instead.

Oh, I love the Peking duck idea! You can have Del Frisco's any night of the year. Booo, Mr. F's friends!

I’m just an opportunistic atheist - pack Christmas into Christmas Eve, then Celebrate Jewish Christmas with a movie and Chinese food the next day.
They really do need to come up with a decent atheist festival ;)

Open to suggestions - never met a religious/cultural holiday that hasn’t got some good stuff to raid.

And now since the holidays are mostly over: how did the relations/friends react to seeing you in the flesh? I was (pleasantly) dissected for most of the holiday as aunts compared the last time each of them had seen me with now, and also with me as a teenager, and with my mother, and then focused in on what had changed which month... They also decided that “something” had changed rather dramatically between Thanksgiving and mid-Dec that couldn’t be explained by a 6 lb weight loss. I told them it was a 24 hour sex marathon in Vegas, and because my aunts are great, they just cackled like lunatics and told me to add that to my swimming/walking fitness regimen.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
