Since my RnY on the 23rd, my sense of smell is extremely acute!! Nothing smells good! I’m getting my Water in, but I’m really turned off by broth big time. Also, could anyone please suggest a pleasant tasting Bariatric multi Vitamin? The one I use is overwhelming. I know I haven’t posted too much positive, but I’m pretty miserable right now. As soon as I start walking a little bit, I start getting light headed and nauseous.

I use the Bariatric Advantage Ultra Multi with Iron and I hate it! It smells awful. I've heard good things about Celebrate Vitamins, so I think I'm switching to them. You can get them from the BP store or on Celebrate's website.

Hope you start feeling better soon!

My Nutritionist is trying to find me some Vitamins that are good to take with out Folic Acid. My body doesn't use it and it has to be broken down in to Folate or L-Methelfolate. I have a disorder known as MTHFR.

Anyone else have this and know of vitamins that will be good to take after my surgery. It's on the 31st. Kinda want to have them here at the house when I come home.

looked it up, very interesting, sounds like obesity does make it worse, didn't know the difference between folic acid and folate, just thought they were both Vitamin B9. Don't know any answers but I will be watching to see what your next steps are. And Good Luck with your surgery, I hope all goes well.

You have just had a GA, major abdominal surgery and you are existing on a VLCD. Of course you are going to be tired. Just be gentle with yourself. Don't push too hard. Do what you feel you can not what you feel you should.

I'm on day 12 and I'm still completely wiped

Yeah just do regular broth.
I started keeping packets of it in my desk just in case.

Maybe make your own Bone Broth? I've done that and it is pretty good that way.....but a heck of alot cheaper to just buy it in the store. LOL

Are you ready for tomorrow? do you know what time your surgery is yet?

I have changed my mind about 5 times in the past hour so far about going through with it. I keep telling myself I am not nervous but this is how I know I am LOL

I really like your posts because they make me feel normal. I’m on day 5 and my left side is horrendous!! And just like you, I have no energy. I’m having to force myself to chew Vitamins and drink protein!! I sure hope we look back on this experience and say, “Shoot, I’d do this all over again 10 times!!”

Day 8. Depression has kicked in. I’m wondering what I did to myself. Clearly it’s time to try to find counseling 🙁

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
