Food too much trouble??

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else experienced the weird problem of not wanting to eat food because its just too much of a pain? I find myself lately subsisting on oatmeal, Protein coffee latte, and a couple of apex sport supplements rather than "real" food.....

Yep, I have trouble with meat. I haven't had any pain or anything, I just get a little impatient with the chewing. I've been trying to find other foods with Protein to substitute for meat. I do love Bocca Burgers, they are quite a bit softer than a regular hamburger patty.

Have you tried making a meat loaf ? I have had that a few times and it goes down fine , still have to make sure that it is chewed well. But i put veggies in it as well. also those frozen meat balls you get at the grocery store. I eat those some times with Gravy or tomatoe sauce on them with veggies.

Also i have made hamburger patties with no bread. Now steak type meats i have tried a few times and like you get impatient with the meat.

I have made pot roast in the crock pot, With that those , if its the butt roast and its striny , you have to cut it up into small pieces of it can get stuck ..

anyway just a few ideas thought i might help with ??

Thanks for the ideas. I have tried the frozen meatballs and they go down pretty good and are easy to chew, they are just so high in calories and fat. I don't really count every calorie I eat, I just try to chose things with lower calories and fat. I've really never been a big "meat" fan anyway. I can tolerate it, it's just not my favorite thing to eat. Thanks again.

Try tuna... it really is easy to chew (the can or pouches) i like the albacore the best because it tastes better by itself and i put less then 1 teaspoon of light mayo in it. And there is a lot of Protein in it

Your welcome. I am not a huge red meat person either. I will eat it , but i am married to a meat and potatoes kind of guy so that makes it hard some times. I would rather eat chicken and he HATES chicken LOL .

Oh I know , i have discovered those honeysuckle turkey tenderloins, have you tried those ? Those are really good . I dont count calories , so i dont know how many are in them . But they should be ok .

oh man, do i ever, eating has become a pain in the neck. something that i really dread having to do. going out to dinner with friends and family is no longer an enjoyable option because i rarely have an appetite and somedays, even Water will make me sick. the food will just sit there in my chest not moving anywhere ever. i've lost almost sixty pounds and i'm thrilled, but at what cost? i'm so afraid of becoming malnourished. i try protien shakes, multi Vitamins, Vitamin Water, healthy foods, but somedays i'm telling you i just cannot eat. is it just me or are some days worse that others? the other night, i went to dinner with my sister and had some tortilla Soup, a small small helping. and i ate it. i ate every drop without having to run off to the ladies room for fear of being sick. i ate it without having, what feels like an entire thanksgiving turkey stuck in my throat. it was marvelous. and then the next day i could barely keep anything down. i don't know what's going on. and what does pb'ing stand for? anyway, any input would be appreciated. thanks!

Yes!!!!!!!! You, too?

Weird as it sounds... I'll skip a meal dining out w/ the kids or even at home... I'll "nah, I'll just wait"...

sometimes I just can't eat or if I had a bad sliming incident earlier in the day...just skip.

But I rather embrace this as BEFORE...I only dreamed of thinking food was too much trouble. So I don't mind a bit.

Interesting thread.

My Nutritionist and RN just gave me sh!t over this issue. I was drinking Pro supplements for breaky and lunch because I get no breaks at work for lunch. You simply cannot leave the desk to eat... at least for me as I have to chew, chew, chew my solid food and it takes so long.. so I circumvented and drank pro shakes which I could squeeze in.

"In order to get the FULL feeling we require to feel satisfied you need to eat solid foods and get your calouries for solid foods" end quote.

So I have been trying and have not had a pro shake in a week. but now I am eating JUNK

Not having a good week cal wise some other issues at work and I am just eating out of emotional comfort... argh! I need to stop.

Pb stands for productive burp. It's just a bandster way of saying puking. I have pbed once. I burped and a little food came with it.

I have puked way more times where it lasted hours.

I haven't done that in awhile though cause I got some fill taken out.

In the middle of Dec. I am getting a fill because I want to go back to not being hungry. It was wonderful.

Have any of you tried cottage cheese and yogurt mixed together? It's really good and goes down well. I even have to chew cottage cheese though.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
