I got my date today, January 30th. I’m in disbelief that it was approved. I went through the process in 2016 only to be denied due to a miscommunication by my insurance 8 months prior. I was devastate

So it just hit me that tomorrow is the last day I get to have any food before surgery since Sunday is nothing but liquids and Monday and surgery day!!!

Hey ..wanted to mention that compression belt. It makes all the difference. Order one..my doc did not, but I put it on leaving hospital and it prevented the sloshing around of my tummy. Pls in bed.. it helps to move side to side. Made all the difference for me.

Hey All - Day 4 Post Op update - I got out into the sun today for about an hour and also walked a local museum. Eating a Bariatric Pal creamy soup for my main meal. I've been mostly hydrating with water and Power Ade. My tastes did change and I'm not a fan of my popsicles anymore :( and even my favorite PowerAde Flavor I'm not a fan of anymore. Otherwise, I did gain about 7 lbs from the fluids from surgery. I'm back down to my day of surgery weight. Also was worried that I was constipated but nope. (that's not TMI - apparently everyone wonder's when they will poop). Ha! 4 Days post-op but it did happen.

Was kinda obsessing about food even though I wasn't hungry - I have very bizarre siblings who were texting pictures of our favorite family curries and what they were eating. We aren't very close - so not sure why they are choosing to do this now. Mean? Clueless? Dunno...but WOW. It did hurt my feelings. Just Why!?!? Anywho so that's why I decided to have a creamy soup to 'fill' me up.

Otherwise, doing well. Not heavily fatigued at all. Will take a nap tho' in a bit just to heal. I've been wearing the compression belt non-stop. Have tomorrow and Tues off and then back to work on Wed.

HUGS to all of you who have surgery tomorrow and who are doing the liquid diet! Wishing you all well!!!!

SimoneMonet- How did work go today?

I had my pre-op appt with my surgeon this morning! I am so excited!!! 20 days!
I will only have the liquid diet for 24 hours before...THANK GOD.

He had sent me to the other side of the office building to get my pre-op EKG taken care of and low and behold, it was also all my hospital admissions stuff. I did all my paperwork, insurance stuff, etc which was a nice surprise.
So now all I have to do is wait for the phone call the day before of what time I am to arrive and then when I get there, I go straight up to the surgical ward.

I have my pre-op tomorrow....a full day of pre op fun ! Cannot wait. I'm a day behind you for surgery and I have to do two full week so of the liquid diet so that starts next week likely on the 15th.

I had everything else done already except the EKG.
I was definitely surprised that they had me doing all of the surgical paperwork there and registering already. That was actually nice and efficient.

And now I wait. tap tap tap tap

obsess is exactly it.

I've already stocked up on everything I could need.....which my husband was not thrilled with.
We went grocery shopping and I picked up a couple of bottles of G2, some different SF jellos, protein shakes, soups, etc. His comment was "I didn't realize you were having the surgery tomorrow". Really???? UGH
If after all these years he doesn't know that I plan ahead for everything!!!

I haven't done that yet. I have lots of lists going on my phone but I didn't want to buy anything until after tomorrow. I have a decent amount of protein shakes because I drink them now but nothing else. I have about 2 cases right now, It will give me something to do over the next three weeks I figure LOL-- Shopping is always fun even for broth :)

I had my pre-op yesterday (1/8/19). I actually had 5 appointments. 1) pre-op (surgery is 1/21/19), 2) heart sonogram with cardiologist, 3) blood work, 4) dietitian, and 5) stress test wit the cardiologist. I was surprised to learn I do not have to do clears for 2 week pre-op. My sheet says either 4 protein shakes a day or low calorie, low carbohydrate dies of no more than 50-60 carbs per day. No snack type foods, sweets, or starches (bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, corn, peas, cereal, crackers, etc.)

I am having a revision from sleeve to bypass.
