I am 2 weeks out tomorrow. I started having this problem yesterday. Started drinking slower, that did not help. Only seems to happen with powder Protein. If I have a ready made shake or Soup, I am fine, but any Protein Powder makes me uncomfortable and has me gagging.

Thank you this was the 1st powder form I had and 1st time I felt that way.

What kind of powder was it so I can duck it? Nobody should have to be into nasty and vile if there is an alternative!😥😝

I did ok on Unjury unflavored and chicken broth when I could get them to mix well with Fluid. And god, whatever you do don't heat them up to much or they will cook on top of the fluid. I am not to keen on cold chicken broth. When I started the flavored whey powder products, I ran into the problem of discomfort and gagging.

it was the Unjury chicken Soup powder, it really was good going down, it was just after I was not feeling great about it... today I am back to lemon and Water, and premade shakes, I think I start puree's this Friday which I will most likely start with some unsweetened apple sauce? What is everyone else thinking?

Officially one week post-op today! No nausea or vomiting thus far, yay! Pain now just discomfort. Two weird things that I’m noticing though which make no sense to me. Firstly, ever since surgery, I CANNOT get warm!! I am someone who has always been extremely hot-natured and was like my own little heater. Now, I’m freezing cold allllll the time. Secondly, things that I enjoyed pre-surgery, I am not enjoying afterwards. Example: Decaf coffee. I have always been a coffee addict! In fact, I was dreading being on decaf versus regular. I weaned myself onto decaf two weeks before surgery in preparation and still very much enjoyed the taste. I’ve tried it twice since surgery and took a couple of sips and wanted no more. Also, the Protein Shakes that were my favorites pre-surgery I can barely tolerate now and I’m drinking the ones I didn’t really like. What gives!?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
