Raleigh or Durham, NC recommendations?

Hello all,

I am currently going to the seminars next week of Dr. Paul Enochs and Dr. Joseph Moran and was wondering if anyone had any good words to say about them or anyone else in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Thanks in advance!

I went to Dr. Moran's session the other night. HE seemed knowledgeable if a little stand offish (he said "like I already told you..." afew too many times) but his staff seemed lovely. I called Duke the next day to schedule to attend one of their sessions just to make sure I was getting more than one take before deciding and they were all booked for info sessions until July! There is no way I could wait that long just for an info session; makes me think it would be many years before the surgery. No thanks.

I went to the seminar for Duke in May and decided that I didn't want to wait for the long time before I could be seen. It was a big mistake. I went to Dr. Enochs in Raleigh. I went to his seminar in June and made an appointment for July, my decision, could have seen him sooner. after I saw him in July, after many phone calls, difficult staff to deal with, insurance rejection, etc., I made an appointment with Duke. I called late November, Saw the dr. 12/22, had insurance approval 12/30, and am having surgery on Thursday, 2/19. Going to Duke first would have saved me 6 months and $500.

I was banded on 6/10/09 in Cary NC by the one and only Dr. Paul Enochs. I have about 10 co workers that took the journey before me with other doctors. Their stories with the nurses and Dr's was nothing like what i experienced with Dr Enochs, he was everthing i want from a Dr, his staff is really great as well.:thumbup::sneaky::thumbup:

Did you have the surgery at Wakemed Cary? I am attending the seminar on July 2 in Cary and was wondering if he did the surgeries at REX and Wakemed?

Thanks,

Renee

clarify my question

I'm scheduled for surgery next week with Dr.Enochs and Dr. Bruce. I'm a little nervous about the surgery, but I'm ready for the change. My process with Dr. Enochs office has been pleasant and very quick. I went to the seminar in April and I would have had the surgery earlier but due to my work schedule I had to wait until July 1st.

Yes Renee i was banded at Wake Med Cary. I was suppose to be banded at Rex but my surgery date got bumped up so I had to go where he was working that day.

I went in for my last Dr. appt on 6/9 and was told that b/c of some insurance situations my surgery would be the next day, I got a little nervous but quickly got over it b/c I was so ready to begin my journey. Im on week 3 down, 18lbs and Im excited about my new future. My advice to any is to stay prayed up, make sure your are mentally ready for the change and enjoy the ride. The more I loose the more motivated and determined I become. Good Luck

Yeah I just had my 2 week appt and had to see Dr Bruce. I wasnt to happy about that but I got over it. I return in 2 wks and I was told that I would see Dr Enochs.

I need a good doctor in the raleigh nc area?

I was banded a week ago by Dr. Enoch and got along very well. While he was doing the band he discovered a large hiatal hernia, which he also repair and I'm thankful. He is great and very professional yet I feel comfortable with him.

The only complaint I have is the wait time to see him. The last time I went I had to wait 2-1/2 hrs. I went to the reception desk & ask if there was anything wrong. She acted like it was not big deal and the norm. She said that it usually took that long for an appt with him. I asked her if I was 2-1/2 hrs late for my appt, if that would be acceptable? She did not answer. Hopefully his PA won't take that long. I would definitely recommend Dr. Enoch, even with the wait.
