So after a weekend of beer, cake, cupcakes, scratch Cookies, I'm still down from Friday... Damn I love this IF crap LOL

Big news from the weekend... I traded my car in for a Jeep. Kinda sad about it honestly, I really did love my 2014 Dodge Dart GT... so much awesomeness packed into that car... but I just couldn't keep dealing with the super crappy roads around New England... the construction, the pending winter, so many potholes... I miss it the Dart, a lot. But, I got a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4 now, yeah I gained almost 25k miles on the odometer in the trade (My dart only had 37500 on it!) But it was a 1 owner, corporate vehicle that was well cared for, I've got all the same features, less the top of the line audio and the sun roof... but I'll survive.

So nearly peeing myself laughing 😂😂😂😂 49 miles from the nearest rest area while catching up reading 11+ pages of posts - Quilt Week done heading home!!!

Hmm no IF for me until I get home. I was naughty with wine, hotel sex (rope involved), and those damn warm oatmeal raisin Cookies EVERY night at the hotel. (Hotel makes 4 kinds of Cookies nightly at 8pm).

But here are pictures...(none w ropes lol)

So fluff, @FluffyChix, quilt week is a big azz quilt show with classes, vendors, show quilts, exhibitions of quilts, etc etc Paducah has 2 a year, although the spring show is absolutely nuckingfutts azzhole to elbow with people as just more everything, has a cult following lol

Agreed! All kinds of beautiful (the quilt and you)!!! I just gotta ask, what was in those oatmeal raisin cookies ;) hehe! Congrats on lots of kinky hotel sex! The Best!!! And for sharing your pics!!!

Just a fly by to everyone. Fixin to leave to go into town (Houston) to spend the day with sissies doing girlie stuff for birthday, then having dinner. We may end up doing nothing more than playing Mah Jong (hope I can play it better than I can spell it.)

Will touch base either tonight or tomorrow!! Hugs to all.

Oh man ... my dates are now so dull in comparison! :P

Beautiful quilts! Quilt shows seem so midwesternly wholesome. Like it should be paired with casseroles, not ropes!

I kinda hate you! :P

Congrats on the new car. I'm a little sad for you about the Dart too though :(

I actually went car shopping last week, but there were no more of the car I want with the options I want left within 100 miles of me, at least. So I'll be waiting and watching for when the new model year starts arriving, and they start discounting them.

So yesterday was not good for eating well, or IF. In a stall, not sure if the poor eating is to blame, or just the timing.

Traveling today. Managed to avoid the surprisingly delicious Breakfast sandwich on the plane by sleeping through the meal service, lol. So that is one way to do IF.

I realize I have some traveling food triggers. For instance if I'm flying out of a certain terminal that has shake Shack, then I am hungry, where I may not have been hungry otherwise. Another airport, I always have PF Changs, so knowing I'm going to be in that airport makes me hungry. (And I'm usually all about local authentic ethnic restaurants!). I'm not sure what I can do about it, other than white knuckle it, or make good choices, neither are really my strong points.

So today will probably be an IF day, assuming my dinner plans aren't too late. Now IF + good choices, ugh, that's tougher!

So I shouldn't say that Friday I was 226.5 and today after a weekend of all that crap I'm 224.2? (I was actually down to 223.9 on Saturday... but you know... beer and cake and all the shi tty foods LOL)

While you wait for your flight, brush your teeth. Nothing tastes good mixed with toothpaste. It's worth a try :)

I get wanting to eat from places that represent the local cuisine/restaurants -- it is interesting and fun. But, the good thing, though it is really hard to convince yourself to do--some of the places now sell hummus and veggies, hard boiled eggs, things like that. I never sounds appealing but afterwards, I'm always really happy that I did. IF I can convince myself to buy those. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. lol

Yeah i got cocky... so Smooth Move declared war on me... But I only had one cup! I guess It was really needed? Sigh...

No real IF until Tuesday. Just pushing whichever liquids and binding foods I can.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
