@GreenTealael I buy Butterball lean ground turkey and it is way less calories than what you posted here?? (And more protein) Maybe you aren't buying the lean? (purposely for burgers?)

the difference is definitely about the fat content (I believe it was 85/15 but I don’t generally worry about fat content)

Let me introduce you all to the many ways I’ve eaten eggs this past week

OMG are we all eating the same things? Today I had eggs (egg and cheese on a tortilla) for the first time in a long while. I thing the surreal egg prices of a few months ago turned me off of them.

a few "meals" the past few days.

- egg and cheese quesadilla with some buffalo wing chips

- chicken fingers made out of leftover fried chicken drumsticks (removed meat from bone, battered and deep fried) with some ketchup

- store bought sour dough baguette slices more leftover chicken (skin removed) tossed in mayo and seasonings and topped with raw asparagus. **calorie count in this pic depicts what i actually ATE vs the initial portion. ;)

- prosciutto slices and extra old cheddar cheese.

I’d sign up for that newsletter.

I was briefly addicted to virgin mojitos and iced tea 😂

I never try to cut the calories on homemade foods because when I cook it’s usually so bare bones (I even added olive oil to this recipe). However, I’m always completely shocked when I calorie check the foods after I eat them 😂.

Tomato, Basil, Pesto, & Fresh Mozzarella Sandwiches!

460 for the entire sandwich, I ate 1/2 of one.

So yum.

Ha! And I I made an omelette last Thursday (& ate it for three days).

Egg prices are supposed to increase here to $15 a dozen soon (about $10US). They’re about half that at the moment. It’s just a crazy proposed increase. My omelette lunches may become a very rare occurrence soon.

That’s the one thing that blew me away when I lived in AU for a bit: the prices of grocery items were crazy! I remember going to a store and being floored at the $14 AU ($9 USD) price tag for 6 oz of blueberries !! ….when they cost $2.50 CAD ($1.80 USD) back home. Granted, that was 10+ years ago, but still. I thought we would go broke…or starve!!

AU prices are actually the reason why I quit smoking back then. Cigarettes where almost 4 times the price of what I paid in Toronto….hmmm maybe I should go back so I can quit again! Lol

P.S. The cost of a dozen eggs up here is about $5-6 CAD , ($3-4 USD) when not on sale right now…up about $1-2 CAD since pre-pandemic.

Ugh. Groceries have become so bloody expensive in Germany as well!

I mustn't look at what I paid for local strawberries and black cherries today. I simply mustn't look.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
