No one told me I could have the SF Jello and popsicles but I’m allowed to have them post op in the liquid phase. I just went ahead and assumed they were fine since they’re liquid and no sugar. 😊
Same for me... I can’t do Jello... the consistency but I will get some popsicles! 😁

Best of luck to you all on your pre op diet. My layout was just like @YoBL , two shakes and one meal of 3oz Protein and vegies. Do you guys have a list of "freebies", I did and the one thing on it that saved my day so many times was pickles. I even drank the juice. They are considered no calorie so that's why it was a freebie.

GOOD LUCK!!! Your almost there.

OK, just looked at it and they are not zero calorie but very low. This list was given to my by my NUT and part of my program. Just be cautious if these are not listed as permitted foods for you, you may want to check with your team first before consuming.

"FREE FOODS" -SF Gelatin -SF popsicles -salad greens -bouillon -SF drinks -SF gum and my favorite -Dill pickles

Good Luck!!!

And I don't know why unless it's the high sodium level but OSU is very against pickles pre and post surgery.

Last day of my pre-op diet!!! Tomorrow is Clear Liquids only, no shakes, no cream Soups, surgery 7/24.
Don’t kid yourself, the pre-op is rough but there are ways to make it better.
I just made a vanilla whey Protein Shake with banana flavoring and powdered Peanut Butter. DELICIOUS!
Enjoy

Me too!!! My surgery is scheduled for 8/3 but my surgeon still hasn’t gotten insurance approval. I hope they hear from them soon and we can carry on as planned.
Good luck to us tomorrow!

My insurance approval literally came last Friday morning (only 4 hours before they would have tossed me off the surgery schedule for Monday). I'm absolutely not writing this to scare you - more to give you faith :) Keep pushing, keep calling the insurance company - and most importantly visualize that approval letter!!

@Frustr8 Pickles contain seeds
which are a no-no post surgery as they can get stuck in the stitches and seems of your closed internal incisions and create an infection.

@ktistinolivia omg!! I’d be a nervous wreck!! I called the doctors office last Monday and I think I’m calling them again tomorrow. They told me not to call insurance on my own because “they know who to talk to”. I’m going to need answers soon! I already have a splitting headache from lack of caffeine and I’m PMSing so they better watch out!! 😂😂

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
