The quote I love is

"I can eat anything I want, but I cant eat much of anything."

That is the truth. We can eat anything. just not in the quantities we are used to eating. For me it has been a great thing. I can still taste the foods I love but I dont feel compelled to eat the whole pan of brownies I can pinch off a bite and suck on them and get the good flavor without devouring the whole thing.

ladies, I believe we had over 125 Dec. banders. I remember reading someone from the first week of Dec. did not get banded due to scar tissue. is there a way we can set up a poll to get the totals. just curious

Hi everyone,

I was banded on the 17th - went for my post op yesterday and everything was looking good. I've lost 13 pounds so far - but feel almost no restriction - think I could eat a horse right now. My doctor says thats normal, I get the first fill on the 24th. He said then I will probably start feeling more restriction, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 fills. HOPE NOT!!! But I feel very good physically, trying to walk at least 1 mile a day on the treadmill for the first month, hope to add more soon.

Hope you all are doing well. Good luck to all of you!

I'm with you! Had my surgery on the 19th of Dec and feel like I could devour WAY more than I should. I am trying to handle it...but I'm frustrated. My fill is on the 29th..can't wait.

I so glad to hear others are just like me. I had lunch with friends today and ate way more than I should have. I have been trying to hold things to 1/4 to 3/4 of a cup but today I got out of control. I ate 2/3 of a vegetable and cheese omelet, about 5 small potato cubes and 1/2 English muffin with butter and jelly. I felt no restriction and I think that that is why I did it. I was testing the band. Felt no discomfort at all. I can't even say I felt full although I have felt full with less in the past. I guess I won't be eating out until I go to the doctor on the 11th. I can really control it in my home environment. For one thing, I don't have all that much on my plate. I do not get hungry in between my meals. I try to hold to an eat every 3 hour schedule. I am getting in all of my required Protein and liquids and Vitamins. Guess that is why I am not hungry but that is a good thing.

Banded on DEC 18th and unlike most docs my doc puts the port right in the middle top of my belly and not on the side. I didnt even know that so when I called in and asked if it was the band I felt he told me what I felt was the port. I thought at first that it was my stomach expanding and getting super tight and I freaked out thinking I was stretching the pouch. Anyway it feels like a hard plate the size of a nickel above my stomach and I swear mine makes my skin pooch out a little.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
