Soooo....PJTP.

It's Friday...and toward the end, and I'm leaving soon!

And, I'm freezing! Why, when it's over 100 outside, does management feel it's good to crank a/c to 60? There is a medium people....FIND IT.

At my work, if it's hot outside, it's freezing inside and, if it's freezing outside, it's hot inside.

Where I work, if it's hot outside, it's freezing inside. If it's freezing outside, it's freezing inside. I think I am starting to recognize a pattern.:tongue_smilie:

hi everyone. Hope you all have a great weekend no matter what you are doing.

enjoy the mac&cheese Luluc sounds good.

I had a bad day at work.:tongue_smilie: I actually was swearing and I don't swear often. I have to be extremely mad. which I was. we have a new person who kept yelling over and over for stuff. She wasn't listening when I would tell her I heard her and I would get her items working soon as I got everyone elses done. Then she kept putting sauces in the wrong buckets. I could see that if they weren't labeled! READ the darn things. were going to end up with a law suit if she doesn't watch what she is doing. people who are allergic get something out of the wrong bucket, yep right to court we go. So I had to keep running back and forth between the kitchen and cook area washing the buckets out. I really didn't have time to be doing that. One of our cooks kinda got onto her about yelling wanting her stuff. he told her I heard and had 6 other things working to stop yelling and blaming me for the food not getting out. She would holler some things that one of the other people hollerd so I would cook it 2 times!:frown::cursing::):cursing::Yawn:

I wasn't the only one mad as all get outs with her. She was told yesterday to waite and let me get things out. so the others that trained her yesterday was upset. O.K. that is my rant for the day.

PJTP: Writing from Ocean City, Maryland. My friend has been itching for a girl's weekend and on Tuesday she went and got us a room at a hotel on the beach for two days. I picked her up in DC and we drove here from there. LONG ride (6 hours from my house, with traffic), but her hubby made it nice for me. He gave me his car to drive (she can't drive a stick):

ohhhhh, sweet!!!

Yeah, I wouldn't be giving it back either!

~~~~~~~~~~
No way am I going to be able to catch up. I've been trying to read as the days go but haven't had time to post and sometimes couldn't focus good enough so just skipped getting on the computer altogether. I've been migraining a lot the last few days again. Tonight seems okay. Thank GOD!
The other night DH read to DD cause I couldn't focus good enough. He was gone last night so I had to read, luckily I've read this book nearly every night for the last 6 months so if I can get a couple of words, I can remember the line.
Went swimming at the HS pool this am/pm. We were there for almost 3hrs. DD enjoyed herself. With preschool ending a month sooner than we thought, we took that money and signed her up for swim lessons for the end July thru the beginning of August. Hopefully she'll do well.
Worried about my dog. She was fine this AM but tonight, not so much. Won't come in the house unless I call her, head/tail/ears down. I pet her, offer her a biscuit and she turns her back on me and goes back outside to lay down! I finally got her to eat one after taking it outside but she wouldn't take it from me. She only took it after I set it down for her. She's really off tonight. Oh and a friend came by to pick some veggies up and she NEVER BARKED or came in the house to see her!!!!!
I see a vet visit in my future if she's still like this in the AM and if I can get her in tomorrow! I sure hope she's okay. She has me worried but I can't tell you that anything is for sure wrong. Just that she isn't herself and I KNOW something is wrong. :confused:
*g4e, so sorry your day was so hard w/the new co-worker! Best wishes with the lawyer thing. That is SO wrong what the ER did!
*Tap, ya should've gone home and back to bed! That whole driveway thing would've totally pissed me off! It's MY driveway, get the F out!!!! And I'd be trying to find a way to keep people out of it! That's just rude!
*Lu, I seriously NEED that recipe! Please!!!!!
Okay, I'm outta here! Take care all and have a great night! TTFN!
Heartfire, reading about your dog reminds me... my mom had to put one of her dogs down today (yesterday, now). So sad... he had an enlarged heart and was stage 5 (the worst) and had been for about a year or more. They say they only last about a year, and as of today she said he couldn't even lay down because the pressure from just doing that was too much for his heart. She called the vet out to put him down. She was crying, as was I. What a sweet, BEAUTIFUL dog (he was a King Charles Cavalier). She rescued him at 7 years old.
As for the car, the wife is all for me taking it, but the deal is I have to also take the insurance and car notes with it. Um, NO, I just want the car. I'm easy to appease. I don't have to have it all. :confused:
Wow! Your DH is very lucky to be alive. You hear about people dying in cars hitting deer, so I can only imaging how much worse that could have been! You and your DH are very blessed.
Heartfire-I hope that your DDog is ok.
Morning everyone!
Morning everyone!
Why does it have to be dreary on my Saturday? I want to be outside playing in the dirt, and it is raining...again.
Kat - glad to hear your DH is fine; sorry to hear about the deer though. Poor thing; hope she didn't have little ones that are unable to survive. I love driving trips except for the road kill carnage that I see. It breaks my heart...whether it is a skunk, a turtle, a groundhog...whatever.
Beth - What a beautiful vehicle. I'm with you - just the car, not the obligations please!
Heartfire - Hope your dog is ok. Re: the driveway...you have no idea how many people somehow believe it is communal property. There is a school bus pick up close by, and during the school year parents would drive into my driveway and wait for the bus. On one memorable occasion, I politely asked the driver to move as she was blocking MY car from getting out, and she launched into a tirade about my selfishness, etc. After that, DH and I parked the cars to prevent people from entering either part of the driveway, but it is such a pain to do that. And besides, I shouldn't HAVE to!
Lulu - The mac and cheese sounds decadently delicious. The 105 degrees outside though sounds sorta HOT...surely people don't go running or other silly things in that kind of weather?!?
To cap the day yesterday: my office window looks over to the city's basilica and I spent some time watching the funeral (or at least watching the church grounds where video was set up and hundreds of other people were participating outside) for a local police officer killed in the line of duty. At the end of the service when the casket was being brought out, the various police force officers stood should to shoulder along both sides of the sidewalk as an honor guard. I was astounded/ angered/ appalled/ disgusted by the number of people walking in front of the church who would push between the officers and cross to the other side of the sidewalk - just because they had somewhere to go in a hurry. Such disrespect! Then when the assorted marchers and bagpipers and motorcycle escort etc were leading the hearse and family cars to the cemetery (all roads were closed to traffic for this), there were people who didn't think they were moving fast enough I guess, and would again cut in front of the procession, barge through with their shopping carts, bicycles, strollers...Every one of those people should have been glad that I was in a tower and not on ground level or I think there would have been some serious bodily injured inflicted by me - and I am a peace-loving pacifist!!
Where is respect and common decency? It doesn't matter who the service was for, you should always should respect for a service for the deceased...that it was for a police officer killed in the line of duty protecting the likes of these people was just adding insult. The common element - from the vantage point I had, I could see that they were all 'young' (to me) people - late teens, early 20's...
The most touching moment - the police officer's partner who was badly injured in the same event, was brought by ambulance from the hospital to attend the service on a stretcher bed; the ambulance then also formed part of the procession. It was reported in the news that a trauma physician, a nurse and a respirologist volunteered their time to escort the officer as her medical condition was somewhat precarious and she was adamant she was going - with or against medical advice.
I had an unpleasant day; the officer's family had a worse one. So, I got over it.
      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
      Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
      I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
      I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
      My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
      Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
      Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
      A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
      I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
      Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
