Lulu - any reason why hubby can't be the tanned body serving you drinks with umbrellas whilst you relax - you both get what you want!

he could :D:mad2: - he really doesn't want to go out of town, so maybe the sun will show up?????

happy bandanniverdary G4E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re belly shots - i treat them like the R&R section. it's not for everyone, while respectful for those who have shown before / after, not so fond of scar shots over coffee...just me.

Hiya Everybody!

I hope you are all doing well. I am doing ok. I got a 20% paycut yesterday and will not have Fridays off. I am thinking about what to do with myself at my new "Girl Friday" office ~ my kitchen table. hahaha I am trying to remain positive although the stress yesterday sent me looking for a chocolate milkshake. I am waging my finger at myself now...

CC - I'm very sorry about your job as well. Bring on the good economy! (Yes I am on oxy for the shingles. Can you tell?)

CC, you know I would have been more than happy running your ass off yesterday instead of you having that chocolate milkshake. But considering this past weekend consisted of wine (with you, of course), beer, pizza, Chinese food, and Ben and Jerry's, I have nothing I can say.

Glad I got my fill today. And glad I started my liquids one day early cuz the 4.5 pounds I gained from all the crap was gone as of today.

PJTP: My blue and gold macaw laid her first egg this morning. I have mixed feelings -- kinda like, "Aw, my baby girl just had her first period," and "Omg, how do I make it STOP??"

Thank you Luluc.

Most of the belly shots I don't even pay any attention to. But the 1 from the other day, I couldn't help but look at it. I mean she had her stomach hanging over the outside of her panties. Like I said in an earlier post I don't like to look at my own stomach hanging, why would I want to see someone elses?

CC, sorry about your Fridays at work.

Warmed up nicely here after a very chilly start.

Bird birth? You mean laying an egg? I suppose so, though it's an infertile egg, thank GOD! lol

Heartfire - I'm not even going to TRY and beat that multi-quote - dang, girl!

LOL! Well, I had to catch up! I was gone all weekend!

Congrats on the swimsuit...I had to buy a new one in anticipation of my July trip to Florida, because I have no idea what size I will be and I KNOW that if I wait until then, there will only be wool in the stores, cause they remove all the swimsuits after June 30th!

Thank you!

Hopefully it will fit me for a while - also skirted, kinda in the old-style suits (full body - no cutouts or anything) - think hollywood glamour - and really cute in the ad. We'll see what happens - it will arrive this week, though I won't be wearing it for a while.

Sounds like a wonderful suit! Fingers crossed it fits beautifully!!

Gotta love those NSV's - I live on them right now while my weight is fluctuating a bit. I just went under 230, so I've got nothing to complain about. Shooting for 220 by the end of the month - I've got about 3 weeks to make it there, and I KNOW I can make that...

I agree with the NSV's seems like I've been hovering here forever!!!

It's so nice to have reasonable goals and KNOW that you can make them because you've got the band to help you...this is SO much nicer than what I used to put myself through! I :frown: my band!:smile2:

Before surgery, no way would I have bought the 16, I'd have gone back and gotten an 18. In fact, if my mom hadn't been there and talked me out of it, I would have even now! That's just the frame of mind I'm still in. It's one reason I wanted to go with my mom. She's a good shopper!! LOL!

That is a great NSV. I don't know when I will get up the nerve to put my tail in a bathing suit. I haven't owned one in yrs. Wait a cotten picken minute! I might have one a freind gave me last yr. I might had put it up. I'll have to check.

Thank you! Well, what are you waiting for? Try it on!

Oh oh... I just challenged one of the doctors on this site: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f197/why-you-shouldnt-eat-salad-93913/ I hope I don't get in trouble but his post made me hopping mad!!

I posted too. I was shocked! I don't know why you'd get in trouble! And by whom???

It was all I could do to restrain myself from saying things like "irresponsible", "unprofessional" and "stupid"!! My doctor would be horrified at that advice, especially since it can be so easily taken as validation for never eating salad veges!!

I actually stopped losing hair when I re-introduced veggies once I was off the post-op!

In honour of this, here's my favourite "Spinach & Mango Salad" recipe:

Sounds wonderful!!!

Where's the pics?? Lots of bitching about unsightly belly shots, few ladies in swimsuits shots. What are y'all waiting for??

UGH!

Tequila slurped out of the belly button of some hot Adonis.

That works!!

I'm going to try and "man up" during vaca @ the beach this summer and take / post some swimsuit photos.

Well, what are ya waitin for???

So bad I could not even get back to sleep.

That sucks! Sorry! I hate nights like that!

Tomorrow is my bandaversary. As of today official weight loss is 65 lbs.

WhooHoo! Congratulations!!

Hiya Everybody!

I hope you are all doing well. I am doing ok. I got a 20% paycut yesterday and will not have Fridays off.

Oh no! I'm so sorry!

(Yes I am on oxy for the shingles. Can you tell?)

How are you feeling? Any better? Hang in there!

Glad I got my fill today.

Here's hoping your fill does as it should!

PJTP: My blue and gold macaw laid her first egg this morning.

Awww, how old is she?

PJTP: Took Dog to the vet this morning. Had to leave her for the day so they could take x-rays, etc and charge me $235 to tell me what I already pretty much knew! She's got arthritis. Started her on pain meds today and vet says she good to go on our walks. I just need to keep an eye on her and if she's struggling, return home early, which is what we've been doing. If, after 10 days, the meds seem to be working, we'll keep her on them and just maintain her at that point. Oh and she only weighs 36lbs after her haircut! LOL! She lost a couple of pounds in FUR! LOL!

Okay, it's getting late and I gotta go eat... MY SALAD!!!!!!

'Night y'all!!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
