Whoohoo!! I too have lost a Calista, so I can relate! We must have started at almost exactly the same stats, as we both have lost similar amounts and are currently about the same weight. Always nice to find someone who's journey closely matches your own...

Bye bye, Calista!

Now we're just trying to help her get rid of Rocco, the killer 47-pound Chihuahua. I had her running Rocco off on the tennis court. :crying:

Drive by:

OMGosh! I just spent an arm and a leg! I need to invest in Target and Oriental Trading stock. Sheeesh!!!

DD's 3rd b-day is in 2 weeks and her b-day party is the saturday after. Of course what I wanted at Target isn't at the stores and the shipping was almost as much as the merch! THEN gotta buy all the goodies for the party and OT has the best prices for what I was looking for. Here come the puppy dogs! Yikes! She picked a Bolt theme and I'm adding other puppies to round things out.

Well, on the positive side, DH has 4 days of overtime so far being on the Santa Barbara fire (still there!), so the overtime will pay the cc bill when it comes in another month!

I'm exhausted and heading to bed! 'Night all!

What didja win?

A triathlon suit. Or a tri tank top. My choice. I'll probably take the tank. One piece suits are hard to pee in. :)

PJTP: I just updated my ticker and I have lost 93 pounds or the equivalent to one Hollywood starlet!

Congrats!

*** Vent Alert ***

The work thing is really tough for me -

Eh, every industry everywhere has its share of assholios in management. I had a truly bad manager for a number of years. He wasn't snarky or malicious....he was just inept. He'd tack on rambling nonsense to inter-departmental email that his boss would send us, call me when I was sleeping to ask about unimportant reports, forget to order supplies, etc.

He didn't last too long (and I suspect the same will happen to your Golden Child, Beth). After awhile it becomes painfully clear who can and who cannot do their work.

Ebony, I was (and still am, really) the Golden Child of my department. As such, I've seen management pull a lot of childish, underhand "tricks" on co-workers they wanted to get rid of. I'm sorry to tell you that my gut is telling me that your boss has it in for you and is stocking up on her ammo (I hope I'm wrong, tho).

My advice (and it's not very practical) is, even if HR and your boss ambushes you again, remain professional and courteous. No need to burn bridges.....and it is possible that sometime in the future they'll lose the douchebag and you can come work for them again.

Well they are probably not hard to pee in but probably hard to remove to get the pee outside of them.

I suspect that's why they added the swimming leg of the race.

Yay! Go Beth!!

*squeal* I know!!

Just six more pounds and I will go from severely obese to "just" obese. I'm paying attention to all these milestones. Once I get below 220, I will begin losing the most weight I've ever lost to date (prior weight loss was 70 pounds).

Yes, losing that "morbidly obese" tag is a big milestone - it's such a horrible label! You're so close!! Go, girl, go, go, GO!!

Ebony/Beth -- sorry about your current/past work situations. Hopefully you'll both get into better situations soon. I had an inept, incompetent boss once for 6 weeks. That was all I could take before I told her Buh Bye and walked out.

Beth and CC -- WTG! I've been on a complete stall for the past month or so. *sigh*

G'nite all.

Thanks, Donna.

My last stall was an entire month between March and April. *Sigh* is right.

I talked to my nutritionist/nurse and she said to shake things up a bit and maybe go on liquids for a day or two and then go back to eating normal. That did it for me.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
