After surgery you won't be hungry much. As soon as you eat something, you'll be full. I broke down one day, and have a pack of Lance crackers, that was it, had to skip my meal.

Yes that’s what I keep reading. It’s like this is the hardest part because I’m aware that I can still eat the food. But I’m determined to beat this food cravings and not give in. I have to keep fighting.

Im having surgery on the same day ive been on my pre op diet for a week is super hard thanks to my wife for keeping me strong

My doc told me to start this week. I don’t think i would’ve of last 2 weeks! I’d probably be cursing everyone out all the time lol

Thanks Star! You started early. Today so far I’ve had Water and a oíkos zero sugar yogurt. It alone has 15 grams of Protein. lunch will be Premier Protein shake. They’re not too bad.

[emoji38] You say that now, but after surgery, and another 2 weeks liquid, they will drive you insane.....

I think this pre op diet is harder than the whole surgery. It’s so hard

Really? I haven’t even been given an idea of what it might be. Glass half full, when I go to pre-op I’ll only have a week until surgery [emoji33]

I am scheduled for surgery on April 25th! My Dr requires a 1 week pre-op diet so I start mine on the 18th, but this week I'm trying to slowly change my diet so that I don't go into shock next week lol.
Good luck to you on your new journey!
I'll be look forward to your updates!

I may need to go ahead and just start something like that just in case so like everyone else is saying I won’t be in shock with that rapid change. Thanks for the photos!

The week before I technically had to start I started this with just one healthy meal a day so I wouldn’t go in shock. I know my brain/body and have to ease into things. So the transition wasn’t too bad. Good luck!

So, I got my pre-op diet plan. Two days before I have to do stage 2, the full fluid stage where I can have yogurt, protein shakes, and cream of wheat. One day before is nothing but clear liquids, so it won’t be tooooooo bad.

yeah you can live with that and you'll do better at surgery for having done that?

My doctor requires a full two week liquid diet! 1000-1200 calories max! No more than 150 carbs. My surgery is on the 17th so I've been on it for 10 days! The first three i thought were the worst, I felt like I was dying of hunger even after eating 70+ grams of protein a day. So far I've lost about 14+ pounds in 9 days (I'm not counting day one) I think I've lost more from this than from the pounds you needed to lose to get the surgery! I won't be surprised if on surgery day I've lost 17 pounds. So hard, and the sugar free everything makes me nauseous
