Joined To Meet New People That’s On The Same Path As Me

So I joined this Bariatric Pals Community thinking that it would be awesome to talk and fellow people that are going through the same thing as me. But for some reason I find it hard to join in on the conversations. I feel like I’m butting in on other peoples conversations. Like who’s this newbie trying to talk to us? Does anyone else feel that way? Or is it just me? Because Im definitely not that way in person. I’m always talking to everyone around me no matter who it is. But for some reason I feel differently on this.

Lol just like my husband drives me nuts hes out by 8 and weekends 10-11 and hes like struggling to stay up so funny

Haha! I'm the same way! I'm in bed by 8:30 pm, the latest. On the weekends I try to stay up... but typically I'm in bed by 9-9:30. I'm just an early bird. I'm up by 5:30-6am every day. I once slept in until 8am and felt like I slept my whole day away.

Ditto! I love getting up super early! I can relax and have my coffee without my dog and kids fighting for my attention :)

Has anyone had a bad reaction to protein supplements? Whether it is shakes, clear protein drink or broth I double over in pain and have to run to bathroom. Was fine before surgery. One wk postop. Wondering if whey allergy.

Wow that’s not good! Iv heard of a few people that have had whey allergies. They would throw up or run straight to the bathroom after drinking it. Have you said anything to your doctor about it? You can get other Protein that isn’t whey protein.

Yeah that’s odd. Definitely call back and see what’s going on. Are you mixing the protein with water?

I tried the whey unflavored protein in my bone broth today had to straight up throw it out it was disgusting

So after the surgery when we can finally eat solids, when we start eating normal I'm going on the Keto diet sticking to that no carbs (or should I say little to no carbs) I'm on pinterest looking up receipes like a woman planning her wedding I feel somewhat insane but I'm looking forward to it lol (Am I the only one?) Just wondering...

No just the pre-made excerpt the broth obviously mixing with water.

Maybe it’s the Premade stuff that’s bothering your stomach? Iv always found the RTD protein to be different than the powder you mix yourself.

I plan on doing the same! Cut out carbs and sugar! I’m gonna make my own diet....Ketopaleo diet! Lol! There is probably one already but it’s fun to put the words together. Lol.

Just PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN AND MORE PROTEIN...With a side of Protein!

I have ISO-Pure Unflavored Protein and I put it in everything. You just have to get past the chalky protein taste and it’s.....Ahhhh...not bad! Lol

I even did it before my pre-op diet! When we had chili for dinner, my kids out a scoop of cheese in their chili...I’d put a scoop of protein! [emoji1320]

Yes Ive been looking at both as well I saw something like the caveman keto diet so that sounds about it good. Everything im looking into is juicy meaning in sauce my doc said Im not allowed to eat like oven chicken, turkey, no grilled dry steak, no fried chicken etc. So basically everything has to be moist because he said its better for the first year to take care of my new stomach and to lose the maximum amount of weight. He also said dried meat (like oven and fried) can give me a stomach ache and ill literally feel it digesting in my stomach. Sounds cray cray but whatever Im in this for life and I wont be suffering because thank goodness I know how to cook. The only problem I have is that Im dominican and in my culture I typically make rice, beans, and meat at least 4-5 times a week pasta dish for the weekends so I dont think I can convince my entire family to be on the diet so Ill just make two meals but Im thinking since its just me and I wont eat alot and also im fine with eating the same thing all the time Ill just prep 2 lasagna pans 1 for lunch 1 for dinner it should last me 6 days then we eat out once a week. Hope you all ok with me talking about food :X
