Pain during and after water intake

I am 3 weeks post op and am having the hardest time drinking Water, not because I don't like it I'm actually craving it and have already been dehydrated. I can drink other things but I really want water. I have tried room temperature, warm, cold etc. Does anyone else have this issue? If so how long did it last. I read in some other forums that this is an issue quite often, some even say its due to the Ph etc

Have you tried to drink with a straw? It helped me for a couple of days.

I’m almost 3 months out and still have issues drinking plain Water. My surgeon did say that my pouch could be sensitive to the ph of the water so I usually add cucumbers, lemon or some diced fruit to it and it goes down a lot better.

I have a really hard drinking plain water- and cold is worse. Caffeine free teas, shakes go down just fine though
