I am sorry to hear this. I hope you are feeling better soon. I know its a struggle to get in the fluids but we must! Maybe you should try putting yourself on a timer every 15-20 minutes and then have an ounce or two of liquids. I think Apple203 was having success with that.

I was using the timer, but was having issues coordinating all my meds and downing food/liquids. I would take my meds then I couldn't drink for a while. I am also having issues with the Vitamins making me sick to my stomach. I am now using my alexa and my iwatch and maybe that will help some.

I am also worried that there is not enough time in the day to take all my regular meds (6), all the Vitamins, all the Water and all the protein!!...yikes!

glad you are home

Vitamins are messing with me, too. My nurse said if I need to, wait on the vitamins until my stomach has more time to heal and make sure I am getting the fluids and 2 Protein Shakes in. Right now, its the Fluid and Protein that's most important.

On the pre-op liquid diet how many calories were you all getting in? I got 80g of Protein today but it was only 300 calories. Wondering if that’s anything to be worried about

I was told to have 108 grams of Protein minimum.

I guess each doctor wants different. Mine gave me a minimum of 75

The vitamins are messing with me too. They didn’t bother me initially while I was on anti-nausea medication, but since then I have been vomiting after taking the vitamins.

I take powdered Vitamins and Calcium -- Isontonix (recommended by surgeon) -- and the advantage is that I can take everything all at once, which I do first thing in the AM. When I am done, I wait 30 minutes and have my first Protein Drink (which is half of a Protein drink, actually). I have these every 4 hours and hit 65+ grams of protein. In between each protein drink, I drink one 16 oz. bottle of Water.

Not trying to tell you what to do, just offering one approach to juggling all of this. :-)

I saw earlier in this thread Protein levels were discussed. I suspect that some doctors believe in a set level "All my patients must have 100!" while others say " Patient A at 200 lb and 5ft 2in may need different than Patient B at 300lb and 5ft 8in, I want to insure proper health and no loss of muscle tissue" I hope my own will think like the 2nd doctor when it comes my time. Although many of us go through the same stages etc we are all individuals and should be treated in that manner.[emoji7]

Great to hear the feedback from all of you March '18 sleevers. I will soon be joining you.

4 days to go until surgery on March 28. Since the timing prevents celebrating both my wife's birthday and our 45th anniversary by going out someplace nice twice over the next few weeks, we are splurging this weekend for a last hurrah. Gonna have my last shot at King Crab tomorrow and nice grilled shrimp on Monday to Celebrate with my wife as our last splurge for a while as well. Of course I won't eat the bad stuff, just the good.

Then on to the clear liquid diet and magnesium citrate for the last day before surgery. I can't wait for that fun day.

I am having to work on helping my wife understand that she will be able to eat relatively normally even in front of me. I think she's afraid of sabotaging me emotionally if she eats when I can't eat much.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
