So far I haven’t noticed any smell changes. I have noticed that the Protein Drink I was using pre op no longer taste good. It’s bitter. My husband loves it so at least it’s not a waste.

Ugh, its annoying! But maybe I'm just cranky, LOL. Or maybe its both!! SIL stopped by and brought back a big chunk of bread to chew on while we were talking... << this is my cranky face! I believe it was just a careless mistake, not a malicious effort. Clear Liquids for two more whole days -- its gonna be rough.

It’s a giant elastic band that Velcro closes. It covers your torso. Mine was on me post op when I woke up. I’m supposed to wear this for 6 weeks.

Oh that’s so cool they gave it to you. [emoji5] I’m going to browse on Amazon for one now!

I haven’t had neck or shoulder pain but I’ve has gas pains in my abdomen and tons of cramping. I also have weird pain in my left side but I’m thinking that might be gas too so trying not to worry.

The gas they flow into our abdominal cavity is carbon dioxide that gets absorbed by itself. Gas in the intestine is different.

Are you guys itchy yet? Have you pooped? Have you lost your surgery weight gain? Inquiring minds want to know!

Not itchy yet. I didn’t have a BM until today (post op day 3). Very small.

I’m not weighing myself until I go to my post op appointment in 2 weeks. Hopefully I’ll see a loss. I do see a loss physically with the help of the elastic belt! 🤪

3/12 surgery - Not itchy, first solid poop today [emoji119] and scale is down 2lbs since surgery. Still pretty swollen in abdomen but surgery gas is gone. First 3 days were rough! Felt incredibly bloated. Have been walking 2-3 mi/day and that’s helped a lot. I also have a belly binder that I bought from Amazon and it’s a game changer.

My doc sent us home straight to stage 2 purée. I’m not pushing it but can handle yogurt and scrambled egg whites in addition to a Protein Shake and Protein Water. Drinking about 50oz/day, 50g/protein and 500 calories. I have energy and am not tired.

Day 5 clear liquids begins! One more to follow. I'm getting a light-headed. I quit BP medicine post-surgery, but I am checking regularly to make sure my BP is OK (it is). Surgery weight gain is almost gone, just one pound left to go before I hit losing territory. Sense of smell is elevated, hunger is dampened. Its weird not eating. I'm ready to eat. Even a Protein Shake sounds amazing right now :-). I've had a couple of SF popsicles and Jello and both are way too sweet to really enjoy. Drinking aloe vera jc and Probiotics every day. Just hanging in there! No regrets, just a simmering relief that it actually happened.:)

So who's up for surgery this week? Are you ready/excited/scared?

I have surgery on a Wednesday! Nerves are settling in! I’ve been preparing meals this weekend for my family so they will be set up for a few days while I’m healing/recovering.

Don't be anxious, you are in the home stretch, first comes the travel, then the check--in, then comes sleepy time and when you wakie wakie , your new and improved life begins. You are a good example for us but even more for your kiddos. You're showing them Mommy has her act together and you'll be here for graduations, weddings and someday grandbabies.[emoji214] Grandbabies are nice, when they make you tired you send them home with their parents.[emoji549] You rat on their parents to them and get away with it.[emoji12]

Okay guys. I need HELP!! I am nearly 2 weeks post op (Tuesday) and I am having the WORST time getting Protein in. I'm supposed to be aiming for 48 grams and I'm lucky to get 10. Any of my Protein Shakes, unflavored Proteins, warm Soups just make me nauseous- INSTANTLY. I have found frozen yogurt Proyo that has protein and is cold, but I can't live on that [emoji30]. I'm exhausted, weak and CRAVING chicken salad-the goupy stuff. I'm ready for the next level, but I'm not cleared yet. What are some things yall are doing to meet your Protein goals?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
