Thanks for sharing. The doctor wants me to get it however it is not something I want to do. I am really looking for more options in order to balance my hormones.

That was my worry as well. My options were slim so I decided to get the Liletta IUD, it releases hormones. So this is like a trial. I hope you're able to find what works for you! If you don't mind, share your results

And that case I have had that as well it was called the marina and I loved it the only problem that I had with it was that my partner did not like it because when we had alone time he could feel it

I have PCOS & is scheduled for the sleeve on April 9th. They told me to get another form of birth control since i was on the pill. I ended up getting the nexplanon implant in my arm. I’ve had it for 5 months now with no problem so far.

If you’re paying by insurance, be careful. Most health insurance policies cover only 1 Bariatric surgery per lifetime.

My gyno referred me to the bariatric clinic in October. I was my highest weight, 230, and had just spent 2 months off the pill and gained 15 lbs. I chose surgery because it’s the only permanent solution to PCOS. I might have missed something, but why is everyone changing their birth control?

I have PCOS and am 3 months in to my 6 months. Surgery should be May/June. Still deciding on which surgery. Originally, I didn't want to mess with rerouting my intestines, but after researching, it seems like most with PCOS have greater success with bypass, so I'm undecided at this point. Waiting to see what the doctor will recommend.

I brought up PCOS with my surgeon and he was satisfied the sleeve would be a great tool for me. He expects me to get down to a normal weight, I’m only 90lbs overweight so I know for others who have more to lose bypass is more effective.

I’ve heard that woman with PCOS might be slower losers ands that’s my only concern.

They recommend you change your birth control because once you get surgery we won’t be able to absorb the medication the same way which makes it less effective. They say not to get pregnant until at least 18 months after surgery so that’s why they say change your form of birth control.

Yes i met with a surgeon to start my sleeve process in Oct.2017. I too have PCOS. I hope this sleeve helps with everything that comes with PCOS or at least minimize some symptoms. Im hoping for surgery april/may good luck everyone !
