6 month update, pic and question

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

A little before and after! Had my surgery June 16th and almost at my 6 month surgiversary. I have lost a total of 63 lbs (including weight lost during the two week liquid diet prior to surgery). Weight feels like it's coming off a lot slower now-which is to be expected. Curious...how many calories were you all eating at around 6 months?

At six months I was at about 1000 cals, give or take. I started to slow down too, but I was not exercise as much. Keep up the good work.

I’m happy to hear your weight loss of 60+ pounds in 6 mos. I was feeling like a failure as I’ve only lost almost 60 since August. Now I just had foot surgery and so I can’t exercise like I did before. Feeling defeated. You also look very toned and thin. I see others losing a lot more so I was getting discouraged. I have not been so good while bed ridden and having cabin fever so need to get on the horse again. Your pictures are an inspiration. Thank you!

Great job!! You look amazing. You must feel fantastic!! I still wonder how I managed to walk around with all that extra weight.
1000 - 1200 calories.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
