Noticing self more?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if any of you are seeing yourself like you have not in a long time. I looked in my visor mirror in the car and was taken aback. I don't know if it is because my face in thinning now, but I could really see my features like I haven't in a long time. I think the chubbyness must really hide our features. I had almost forgot what I use to look like when thin. I am remembering as the pounds melt off.

Hi Carrot,

This is great news ;)

I'm off tomorrow, and only lost 3kg so all I see is YUK and who are you??

Just keep looking in that mirror:whoo:

OMG Carrot, check out your ticker! You're down 26 lbs already, I guess that post-op nausea really paid off, LOL! I too look in the mirror and already see a change in my face. I'm down a pants size already and it's only been under 2 weeks since banding for me. But my FACE is starting to look like me already! It's it a cool NSV (non scale victory?) POST your picture Carrot!!

Im noticing the weight disappearing from my middle and face the fastest. Thelma and Louise are hanging in there!!!!

I really notice my face thinning. I think all the weight I have lost so far is all from my face. Nothing left to fill out my wrinkles and under my chin is getting wrinkly as well. I guess a face lift is in my future (and my arms and my legs and my stomach and my breasts.... all lifted as well)

Lizzee- LOL! You really made me laugh. I sure hope I start to see some pointy things like cheekbones instead of just my nose! Ha!

26 pounds! That is totally fab Carrot! No wonder why you are noticing things. I still look pregnant...but not as pregnant. I went from 9 months 2 weeks ago to about 2 months pregnant today.:preggers: Carrot you are my inspiration.:high5:

I can't say I've really noticed anything, but my uncle who lives with me says he sees it alot in my face. That made me feel good that he noticed. DH says he feels it more than sees it. When he hugs me he says it feels like less to squeeze (yeah)!

I haven't noticed anything yet. I still see my sister looking back at me when I look in the mirror. She's always been bigger than me but as I got bigger I started to look like her. I can't wait to see my face again. LOL

Well done carrot. Keep up the good work. You're inspiring!

Hey Coo, are you from Scotland?? That looks like a Highland coo to me! I had the pleasure of discovering Scotland last October and fell in love with it!

Best wishes and cheers!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
