Tall bandsters

Recommended Posts

Is anybody else confused by lane bryants new sizing? According to the girl who measured me I wear a size one there. Does anybody know what size that would be in a "normal size"? I'm also 6' tall and need a long inseam (about 36-38)

I'm between 5'10 and 5'11, and wear anywhere between a 10w and a 12, depending on manufacturer. I'm averaging on the low end of sz 20 pants but can't yet reliably get into any old size 18. Shirts I'm in a loose 1x, most 14/16s, some 18/20s. I'm hippy and have always been (even before getting fat) a larger size on bottom than top.

Wheetsin It sounds like we might the same body type. I'm very hippy but I have a little waist. I wear a size 10 shoe. I hate buying jeans because of my hips and thighs

Jeans & pants in general are hard to find. If they fit my hips, they gape in the waist and I have to belt them.

I thought I liked the fit of the new LB jeans - the ones designed for different body types, but I'm not so sure. (I bought the blue ones which I think are for hourglass figures). I've worn them 3 times now, and the do fit nicely in the hips and waist, but the butt sags, the crotch has those stupid folds of excess fabric, and the legs are really big.

*sigh*

So far I've had the best luck with buying tight jeans and just waiting for them to "break into" my body.

Oh - my waist is fairly high, too, and I hate jeans with a low rise. I tried the Daisy Fuentes jeans at Kohl's but they had a really low rise.

My last round of progress pics shows my current figure. You can easily see - hippies everywhere, high waist. Makes for a VERY hard fit.

I'm 5ft 10, 160lb and a US size 8 to 10 - which is 12 to 14 in Australia. That is, always a 10 on the bottom, sometimes an 8 on the top.

I was 245 when banded, and a US size 16 to 18 - Australian 20ish.

On the pregnancy score I found being tall meant I didnt pop out a lot - I had average 7 to 8lb babies, so even after 3 pregnancies my stomach is not wrecked. I also didnt gain a lot of weight when pregnant.

I was always 5'11 until last year when I was measured at 5'10. I know people may shrink a little as they age, and I have acquired scoliosis (curvature of the spine) which may have made me slightly shorter.

I'm really hoping that my shoe size goes down. I take a 12M and so many styles stop at 11. I am very short in the rise and most tall pants have a crotch that hangs about 5-6" below mine. I hate it when my thighs touch........

I was surprised at the number of bandsters that are 5'10 and taller. I feel like I rarely see women who are like me--both tall and wide.

I always hated it. I like my height but to be heavy as well, I always felt so masculine and ungainly even though I'm not at all masculine to look at. But although I was only 245 (Bmi 35) when banded, I felt absolutely ENORMOUS.

Many people can be fat but still feminine and cute, because they're little and petite. It may not feel that way to them of course, but I always envied people like that, I just felt like a big huge slob.

Now of course, I feel so willowy, I love being tall! And I've only got size 10 feet (40) which isnt so bad, there's tons of shoes available.

My sisters!

Just shy of 6 ft here, shoe size 11 1/2 M. My feet have shrunk in width, but not length. I am still wearing an 11 - 11 1/2.

I too started out just shy of 280, I was wearing a tall sizes 18-20. I am now 185 pounds and wearing a size 12 comfortably. Size 12 was my goal, but they are now loose. When the last 10 pounds come off, I will probably be a size 10.

I shop at The Tall Girl and Tallcrest shoes in Vancouver and online.

:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

PS, last time I was in the Tall Girl, I felt SHORT. Everyone in there that day was taller than me. I could swear I saw Serena Williams. Must google to see if she was in Vancouver at the time.

I'm six foot one, and I plan on being in a size 12 by the end of my journey, and I think that's totally attainable. I have noticed that some shoes that used to be too tight are now perfectly comfortable to wear!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
