I also had my surgery on the 1st and just in the last few days I have really had to use all my will power to keep from cheating!! I don not feel

the restriction that I had before. I am determined not to give in though.

I have an appointment on the 19th of November to get my 1st fill so I just need to hold out until then.

I know how you feel - right now I can eat everything I did before banding on 10/3. I haven't tried everything (no candy chips, tough meat, lettuce or peanut butter) I just have to eat slower and chew things up more. No vomiting but i felt like it a couple of times. I am worried cause i have only lost 14 lbs. It been a while since I have been to this site but it seems like everyone else is doing better than I am.

I feel the same. I haven't tried too many things, but I have tried eating different meats. Like tonight, I had pulled pork. It was very tender, and I chewed the crap out of it. I've had tuna, steak, chicken, but all of it has been shredded or cut VERY small, and I chewed lots. So far nothing has bothered me at all. No pain or discomfort. I have found that protien helps with the hunger. If I eat a scrambled egg in the morning, I'm fine until past lunch. A yogurt, and I'm ready for lunch around 10am. As far as not losing a lot of weight, I've only lost 15 lbs, and I was also banded on the 3rd. I quit losing when I moved to mushies. After 3 weeks of liquids (including pre-op), I think my body is saying, "Yeah food. I think I'm going to keep it, because she may decide not to feed me again." I think that once our bodies get used to the fact that it is actually going to start getting some nutrition again, the weight should start to fall off again.

I hear you. I'm in the same boat but didn't even try not to eat and stay on the mushies. I've eaten bread with Peanut Butter, corn chips. All the stuff I shouldn't.

I read a post by WASabubblebutt yesterday that refocused my attention and have gone back to stage 1 on the liquids again. I'm going to have to rely on willpower, which I have little of to get through this next month till my first fill.

From what I've read here there seems to be 2 groups those that have a lot of restriction and sometimes too much after surgery and those of us that feel they can eat anything. I can't wait till I'm at the right level of restriction.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
