Daily Menu Thread for the Wk 11.05.17-11.11.17

Recommended Posts

>> Wk 11.05.17-11.11.17

Since last Saturday, I have kept a half-eye out for a new thread like "Wk 11/12/17 to 11/18/17" but none has emerged. That was an idea that had a natural death date then!

As it's already the Saturday 18th at 1pm, I guess that the idea fell down.

No, I should have named this differently. If we start new threads each week, the threads will quickly overrun the "Recent Posts" area to the right of the screen. I would hate for that to happen. So I suggest just keeping this thread through the end of November and beginning a December Menu thread. Will that work for everyone?

Fluffy, I don't post what I eat because I am a weird eater. But...I do like to read this. I'm sure the Friday night has something to do with "NO POSTERS". Thank you for starting this. To document your food is the way to get where you want to be. RIGHT It will come together.

I hope it will give people inspiration (not me, cuz you know, I'm pre-surgery), but I know afterward, I will go back and re-read all the posts. So hopefully it will help each of us stay on track, but also help others!

I see ...

The site does need 'terminal' threads too ... ones which die or self-erase after 30/60/90 days or outlive their recent relevance.

Maybe the option for the O.P. to kill the thread when a newer, more relevant one emerges.

(Given the limited number of people who actually update their weight/mass and profile, I'd say it's not a likely winning cause!) :-)

Well, if we self-erase (which we can't, cuz we can no longer edit after 1 hour I think), then we won't have food ideas to go back and look up when we need them?

But, yes, as sad as it is, it doesn't appear that there are many who want to do a daily menu thread. But there are some...lol. So until I get bored with it, I may just amuse myself and post my daily menu in this thread through November, then start one for December. Cuz you know, I'm ornery that way. Andrew Meany and passive resistance and all, "Thank you sir, I prefer not." hahahaha

OK, despite the ongoing ravenous hunger from PT, I'm staying the course and am now officially down a few more tenths of a pound to 230.4lbs (nekkidy/poop and pee free) this morning. I'm continuing to ask myself every time I get a hunger cue at inappropriate times, "Why am I eating?" So far, it's stopped me from major jungle fever interaction with mah food! I sit down at the table for dinner and the other meals I'm either working at my computer or else I'm working at monkey business at my computer chatting with you guys in the forum...not ideal. I should ideally be focused solely on eating and sitting at the table. I think doing a pre-workout lunch and a post-workout lunch maybe help with the hungry, hungry hippo problem I've been having as a result of the added exercise and added hunger.

Question: Do you eat at your table? Do you eat slowly-savoring and chewing each small bite as directed by your doc? Do you put your hand and fork down between bites? I just read an article that suggests perhaps that people who eat faster are more prone to metabolic syndrome. So HOW do you eat?

Eating faster linked to metabolic syndrome article

Study about eating speed and metabolic disease rates-yes, it's only an association study and association cannot prove causation...

Ok, I should eat better. Right after surgery I did sit and eat slowly, but now I've gotten in the habit of grabbing my food and eating any old place, as quickly as possible. (Bad, Bad Berry!)

Yesterday:

1 small apple with 1oz cashew butter

2 cups 2% milk

4oz beef steak

1 egg and 3oz Beans

Total: 1100 calories and 63g Protein

I like reading these too. 'Course I might have driven Rainbow off... he's probably said "enough is enough! berry picks on fish, egg whites, and quantity of meat, is there anything I'm doing right?? "

Sorry, Rainbow! I think you are doing awesome! Just a few things to watch out for, is all...

Ok, so yesterday I was extra hungry again.. thinking I need to pay attention to acid.

1oz pecans

4oz pork loin

1oz sausage patty

1 cup split pea Soup

1 egg

1 cup sweet potato

2 cups milk and 1 cup coconut Water

1625cal 90g Protein

I was a really good girl for around 1 and 1/2 years. Trying to eat and focus only on my eating and taking my time to chew. I still don't drink with my meals. I know that is something I will do for the rest of my life. It is one thing I won't have a problem with because it hurts my "PRISSY POUCH" if I try to drink. I notice I have got away from the sit down at the table etc. So I guess I should get back to basic's.

That was the day before me.

You are making very good progress.

I was 174.6 kg [385 pounds] when I met surgeon (late July) and 160.4 kg [353.6 pounds] on the day of surgery (Thur, 12th Oct).

scale said 152.1 kg after my shower before breakfast. [335.3 pounds].

TOTAL LOSS: 24.5 kg (54 pounds)

POST OP LOSS (38 days): 8.3 kg (18.3 pounds)

Your rate of loss is great. 30 pounds is 60% better than me!

I went back to the gym on Wednesday (15th) and the pool yesterday (Saturday 18th) so I expect some acceleration now.

Let's see.

Today I had:

A cup of 1% cottage cheese

1 egg and 3oz kidney Beans

1/2 large apple

2oz rice krispies treat (off plan.. plate sitting there was my undoing)

1/2 cup 2% milk and 5oz evaporated milk

4oz beef steak

Extra Vitamins (they have calories and protein)

Total: 1280cal 83g Protein

Gonna have to be better. Things keep on slipping in. Sigh..

I appreciate it :) peeps can jump on me if it makes them feel better. I just do things, then try and figure out WHY I do it so I can prevent some of it.

I think that 1600+ day takes the award for high calorie count. (Have to have a 700 day to balance it). My typical day is closer to 1100 calories... at least it has been... I see where I'm inching up without really meaning to.

I think I DO get hungry, and tend to grab what's easy. That's why I had 2 fruits or the rice krispy treat. Ready, grab, eat. I'll definitely start making veggies easier to grab instead.

Impressive.

In awe that you can get it to sub-400 calories.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
