I seem to have problems getting cold foods like yogurt and ice cream down. Apparently, my band doesn't like them. I have to go REALLY slow if I want to eat them, and even then I can't eat a lot of it. Which is actually a good thing when it comes to ice cream, I guess. But even cold milk goes down slowly. It's kinda odd.

I have a hard time with slimy foods. You'd think that if anything would go right down, it'd be a slimy thing... but nope. I made strawberry shortcake the other night and the strawberries gave me the worst time. So did some apricot jelly I ate the other day. Applesauce gives me more pressure than it's worth. Bananas just sit there for way too long. Etc.

I tried drinking some chocolate milk the other day, and it took me several different attempts to get the entire 16 ounces in, just because I couldn't drink more than a few sips at a time.

It will be a looooong time before I drink Choco Milk again. That is seriously nasty when it comes back up. Curdled Choco Milk is vile.

I've given up drinking frappuccinos, precisely because I can't get them down!

I was told that the cold makes the silicone band contract and stiffen so you end up super tight...

I'm feeling really restricted following a fill on Wednesday, I'm having all my fluids hot at the moment because it just takes too long to get a pint of Water down me... thankfully I like herbal teas!

That's interesting!

I'm having a lot of typical foods getting stuck.. and sadly, I can't eat bananas right now either.. But yogurt doesn't phase me, or anything 'cold'..

Cold gets me to. Even more solid things, I do better if the meal is hot... which of course kind of sucks, since it takes me forever to eat a reasonable sized meal (more than 6 bites of anything).

It's not the band that cool foods contract, it's your stoma.

Actually yes now you say it that makes much more sense!

wheetsin, I think the problem may be sugar and in the case of the apricot jam, the acid of that fruit. aslo i have had awful problems with the little seeds of strawberries-who knew?? my band is fickle and i never know what and when it will give trouble...like the tuna I ate from panera yesterday...just wouldn't stay down

I seem to have trouble with drinking a glass of milk, of all things! I can drink a glass of cold Water, but not milk. I can tolerate milk in cold Cereal though. I also cant eat cold roast chicken...cooked is fine, but no go for the cold bird.

Ice cream is no problem. and I havent tried yogurt, as I'm not a big yogurt fan.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
