Hi there-

Whatever happened? Are you ok? My gallbladder pain was on right side to the middle of my stomach area and it began after l ate greasy food or drank alcohol. It was a relief to get it removed! Hope you’re ok!

I used to have gallbladder pain years ago, and was told it was sludge. So I'm familiar with how can feels.

Before surgery and Now that I'm 42 lbs down, I've had similar pain, but ultra sound revealed no problems. I was puzzled, and still in pain.

Mentioned it to my massage therapist and she massaged my rib muscles (intercostal?). The next day it felt like I'd been hit by a truck, but day 3 it was much better.

So, I'm not saying don't see your doctor, but if you check out OK, yet still have pain not related to eating, maybe it's muscle related.

mine felt like the flu every time i ate. bodyaches nausea pain under my rib cage going to the back and radiating up. for months i went to the er and they kept saying viral infection, flu, stress. changed hospitals and the dr actually listened instead of reciting me out of a textbook. sent me for an ultrasound and turned out his hunch was right i had 100-200 stones. i waitressed at that time so basically a greasy diet....thankfully he listened to me.

It's been a while since I had my gallbladder out, but I don't remember any running to the bathroom issues. It was painful--horribly painful--and sometimes I'd force myself to throw up because then I'd feel a bit better. It would keep me awake most of the night. Gallbladder attacks tended to be tied to eating (overeating) fried, fatty, or greasy foods.

If you think this is your issue, consult your physician. Or, basically, since you have some issue/concern, consult your physician!

Good luck.

Good advice here.

I had mine removed a couple years ago. It is the WORST PAIN I've EVER experienced and I have 3 kids. There is no position to relieve the pain. It hurt so bad I couldn't move, let alone run to the bathroom. I would sweat even though I felt cold. The attacks would last for hours. Mine usually happened at night after eating a lot of fatty food. I'm so glad to be rid of my gallbladder!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
