Recommended Posts

Yes, today I had a quarter sized stool, I was told no caffeine, so no to coffee, I'm still having a struggle with hydration and pain with everything I try to take in

I know the struggle is real to get these fluids in.

Yes, I have been so weak, but I've talked to my surgeon's office and they tell me everything I'm feeling is normal. Just push the fluids.

I know everyone says it's normal. I am so glad we have this website. No stool here yet either. I think I may have gotten a little more in today but I know it's not nearly enough. Wish there was a way to skip time to at least 3 weeks from now!

I was sleeved on the 16th and just got home this afternoon. Fear of internal bleeding kept me in the hospital two days longer than I had expected. Today is also my last day of Clear Liquids, which the only thing I’ve had since the surgery is Water, 1/2 of a SF popsicle, 2 small spoonfuls of broth. Tomorrow I get to switch to full liquids so I’m hoping Protein Shakes will agree with me. Got about 60oz of water in today, and that is my main focus as of now. Not much pain or discomfort

have any of you had a bowel movement yet?

I was October 12 (8 days ago). I have had four days in a row now with one or two 'fat cigarette' stools each day. Everything Friday to Monday was gas or liquid, mostly gas.

The typical current 8cm-10cm (three to four inch) stool would represent about 15%-20% of the size of my former one giant stool per day.

Hope this was too much information for the squeamish! :-)

60oz is amazing! I don’t think I’ve had 60oz of anything!

Had my sleeve one week ago today and feel great. Each day is getting better. I have no problems getting my fluids in, and mixing up my full fluids to keep it interesting with creamed Soups, yogurt, etc. Protein Shakes are getting easier to tolerate each day as well. On day of surgery, I was 283.1, and this morning I was 266.6! Looking forward to continuing the journey

Been a week for me also. Feeling great but trapped at home; can't drive until follow up on Fri. You're doing great! I'm only down 8 pounds this week. Finally had a bowel movement today. I was starting to think I never would. I'm tolerating full liquids well. Some cramping here and there.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
