6 days post op. Things are going well. I'm keeping my fluids and Protein down. Whenever I get a craving for "food" I either get a Popsicle or some Jello and "fake it". A couple of good things have come out of this.
1) I can now drink coffee black. I've been trying for several years to kick the Creamer habit, and it finally happened.
2) I don't know if any of you ladies have this issue, but I've always had a weak bladder. Since this surgery I don't have to "rush" anymore. I'm loving it.
I've lost all my surgery swelling/water weight and a couple of pounds more. but I'm not really paying much attention because I have plenty of time right now, and my recovery must come first. Also I had my first BM this morning. Everything went fine and I had no problems. I know it sounds like I'm having a easy breezy time of this, but I assure you my incision is still hurting and I walk around like a 90 yr old woman. I've been icing my side and that helps some.
How is everyone else doing?

Congratulations! The pain will fade, but it sounds like all else is great.

OK I had a bit of a setback. I am lactose intolerant. Been for years. I tried many products before surgery and they sat ok with me. Typically whey isolate is ok VS the other whey. Greek yogurt typically doesn't bother me but non-greek does. Well....I had pure diarrhea early this morning for at least 3 hours non stop. I KNOW I cannot afford to lose liquid like that. I'll get dehydrated. I have not yet managed to get to 64 oz or more a day. I thought I would be able to no problem but I cannot yet. SO....I decided to go back to liquids for today and kinda reset my gut. I asked my nurse if I could become MORE lactose intolerant and she said absolutely. So no dairy, whey, yogurt or even lactose free milk for me today. I'm FREAKIN STARVING. At least I'm getting my liquids in! I am BEYOND ready to move to puree stage. I can't until after Nov 29th meeting with surgeon. At least then I can get in chicken and fish for Protein and not rely so much on dairy products. This NOTHING but some form of dairy for almost a week was my downfall today. I will try at least ONE meal with Protein Drink tomorrow see how I feel. I'm terrified of losing what little hair I have left so I need that protein. As far as incisions, nothing has ever pained or hurt me. I walked my dogs daily. Yesterday I did 3 miles. Slower than normal but 3. Today I did a shorter one because (a) I'm back working and (b) I almost felt like I had low blood sugar from not eating. Nov 29th...HURRY!!

@BabyFat23 I am having the same issue. I use to drink a case of Water within three weeks before my surgery but now I can't get anything down I don't care for water or anything else to drink at this point. I am pushing it down but it wants to come back up. I also have another issue I am having so much pain in my chest it is horrible I contacted the doctor today and they told me to come to the ER. I didn't go and I decided to wait until tomorrow to see how things go and if it's not better I will be at the ER.

You know I had that...really really bad pain in between my breasts. THAT'S where your new stomache is. We always think it's like below our ribs. I figured out that mine will what I call seize up if I am super hungry. Terrible awful pain. So that's why sometimes I make a yogurt with Protein Powder in it (like PB Protein powder) and thin it with a little water. Just to put something THICKER than LIQUID in it. That seems to do the trick. Like I wake up every morning with that pain cuz I'm starving. I can't wait for puree foods!!! Good luck but just be careful in case it's not your new tummy.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
