This is a good question. I hit my goal a couple months ago, and truth be told I think I rewarded myself all along the journey. Like buying smaller jeans, better makeup, and taking road trips to see friends, etc. basically, jumping back into life again and learning to love myself along the way. So I guess for me the reward has been the journey and self discovery!

I agree, I plan on rewarding myself all along the way, and as you said being able to buy smaller and new clothes is a DEFINITE plus, it also feels wonderful to be able to throw the larger clothes away knowing that you will never need them again! Oh and CONGRATULATIONS on hitting your target! Give me about 8-12 more months and I will be there as well!:D

I love all these ideas! Especially BEING IN PHOTOS with my kids. So they might actually have a photo of me! I've never been in the photos.

Sadly, reaching my goal weight will not make me richer. So most of your great ideas are out of reach for me. It will be its own reward to be able to wear normal clothes, hike, and be active generally. Not be embarrassed about my weight. I probably won't even be able to afford a new wardrobe except bit by bit. But yeah, dancing. Going on rides, everything.

I’m borrowing this idea from someone else but I heard “how to walk in high heels” lessons are being offered so I plan to get me some good and make use of that class!

What a great topic! I have not even thought about what I would do for myself once I reach goal. Well, one thing that is hard for me now is to hike so it just hit me that maybe my hubby and I can go somewhere and hike somewhere high - it gives me inspiration to keep working out also. Hmmmmmm!

Go on a hike with a mink coat?? I like it. lol

I am a cruise junkie, so once I hit my goal weight I plan on going on a cruise and doing a zip line excursion as well as entering myself into several 5k's in my local area. I plan on living life to the fullest and not letting myself get back to the dark place that I was ever again!

That's an awesome goal!!

I think the only thing I would like is perhaps a picture of me with my family in a happy place like the Caribbean. For too may years I have avoided most photo opportunities because how I disliked seeing myself as a heavy person. I felt like a ghost in a way, there but not really. Now that I see everyone else's wish list I'm thinking I might need to set my bar higher [emoji4] I kinda like the Porsche idea but I think it be a bit of a hard sell to the wifey and probably to myself. Almost bought a Maserati a few months ago until I investigated how much routine maintenance cost and decided it was a little too crazy even if I had the money,

I love your goal!!! It's realistic, i'm so glad you feel comfortable taking pictures now.

Love this, because i think that every single person in this community can relate to what you just said.

In my current state (162kg), my belly almost touches the steering wheel when I'm driving. (SEE PIC)

Theres 20mm (0.8 inch) between me and the bottom of the wheel with the seat right back. I well remember a 100mm (or 4 inch) gap when I was down to 131kg in early 2016.

I want that feeling and better. It'd be nice to give the passenger behind me some leg room. :-)

The eventual hernia op next year will help too.

A great NSV to look forward to ...

A really great looking swimming suit, and not being embarrassed to wear it at the beach, pool, etc.

A whole bunch of walk-bys in front of people who would not have noticed me before and non-chalant responses like “what, this old thing??” even though I’m sure I’ll be proud as hell to be wearing a size... (whatever I settle at)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
