December Sleevers??

Recommended Posts

I am on my first full day post-op. Every sip I take causes my new tummy to HURT. How long until that goes away? Over all I can't believe how much better I feel than yesterday. The first night after surgery was ROUGH.

Good Luck Beardman on your surgery.

Thanks! Everything went well. Pain isn't so bad, no nausea. Keeping liquids down. Best I could hope for.

How are all my first week of December sleevers doing? Let’s get some updates.

I’m 14 days post op and feel so great! Down 18 pounds at my 1 week follow up. I don’t weigh myself at home. I go to see my surgeon again next week so I’ll see how much more I’ve dropped.

Only issue is my heart races after I eat or drink anything. Anyone else experiencing that too?

I was sleeved on 12/18. The first night was really rough. I started to have regrets bc I was in so much pain. I walked around and still felt gassy. Each day is getting better. I’m down 5 lbs since Monday!

I was as sleeved on 12/19 and the gas is what is getting me too. I can’t sleep because the gas gets stuck in my stomach and hard to get out. Been trying GasX but not much help. I also walk but does seem to help. And other suggestions anyone ?

Hi rubyfit4life ! For anyone feeling the gases- it gets better and about day 3 (for me). Swallowing Water also got better at day 3. I was soooio thirty. When I drank even a tiny bit, it would hurt in my belly. It's gotten better. Sip sip sip or use ice chips. Ice chips are helping my get all my fluids. I'm 6 days post op. I added just a bit of sugar free Jello on day 4, and tried sugar free pudding on day 5. Today I'll try cream of wheat. I'm 17 lbs down.
What else is everyone trying at this 1 week point? Rubyfit4life what are you doing?

I was sleeved on 12/19. The surgeon nicked a vein near my spleen. I lost one liter of blood. I had a fever, a cath and a drain. The drain is still in and is causing me major discomfort. I hope I get to go home today. I am having a few gas pains. I also have pain in my left shoulder.

Day 10 of my liver shrinking diet just ended. Tomorrow is my last day of 4 shakes and a small meal. On Christmas I start my clear diet. So far I am down 14 lbs in 10 days. I have not strayed one bit from my diet and I now really like Water lol!! I feel fantastic. Surgeon prescribed my Vitamins and Nascobal (once a week B12 nasal spray) and my insurance covers half the cost. Pretty pleased with that.

I even went to my parents' holiday party and I wasn't even tempted to cheat. I guess I have my mind right on this. I am walking every day so my body will be used to it after surgery.

My surgery is scheduled for 10:55 am on the 27th.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
