  3. I went with the truth minus the surgery information...high protein, low carb, watching portions. Using a lot of protein shakes to balance my intake. Since i was doing this in the preop diet for 6 months no-one seemed to notice the dietary changes post op. I had my surgery over Christmas so everyone thought I was on vacation. Its almost been a year since surgery and no-one knows for sure. I'm sure some people probably think surgery but most people leave it alone. I just figure it nobody's business anyways. Now my friends are a different story, upfront with them as my wife also had surgery and told all her friends (mostly the spouses of my friends), lol. If any of my coworkers that had weight issues pulled me aside quietly and asked, I would discuss the surgery with them in detail. I just don't want to broadcast to the company at large.
  4. Doing well, broke into onederland this week! Still a bit to go to my initial weight goal...but I've hit my size goal (m/L shirts, 36 pants) was 3XL and 54-56 pants. Now I'm starting to think about building muscle and focusing less on the scale. Time to look into that gym membership...

  9. Well, my wife and I had our vsgs a month apart so it's been great to have full support. I can imagine that had I not gone through the process it might have been more difficult.

  11. Doing well and feeling great. Dr. told me I was loosing too fast and need to eat more carbs to slow things down. First time a Dr ever told me that! HW-325 (before liquid diet) SW-295 CW-222 GW-205
  12. I am only three months out from my VSG but have had to purge every piece of clothing I had. Can't go to work in a 3x polo when a 1x is already loose. I'm a guy that doesn't like shopping so replaceing all the clothing is not fun for me. I kind of wish I kept one set for comparison.
  13. Around 60lb (90lb total). My doctor was very concerned that I was loosing too fast. She said this can cause excess muscle loss and issues with vitamins. My muscle/fat loss ratio is still good buy I'm waiting on my blood test results for the vitamin issue.
  14.    Beardman reacted to a post in a topic: Genepro
  15. I love my genepro...assuming the claims are correct, which may not be clear. Basically, they claim that the protein they process is more easily absorbed than standard whey protein. Therefore 1 scoop is "equivalent" to 30g of whey protein as far as you body is concerned. I opened up the package and saw the small scoop and was like "There is no way that is 30g!". I really like the product and it seems to be working for me and my wife. I'm going to see my NUT this week so I may ask about their opinion.

  17. I dream of salad...can't have fresh veggies and lettuce until 4 months post op on my program. Only 2 months to go!
  18. Watch the YouTube videos of guys eating g five pounds of sugar free gummies...OMG!

  22. I've tried a few and found that the the genepro flavorless I picked up at the local GNC works well. I'm not sure if the claims are all true on the package/webpage (http://www.gnc.com/whey-protein/527310.html) but the serving size has a much smaller scoop for 30g of protein. It dissolves easily and can take some heat without turning clumpy/gooey like many of the others I've tested. Its been perfect to add to a little oatmeal to boost the protein. Oh, I had high hopes for the isopure clear drinks but they taste like sour milk to me...
  23. Sweet Lord, as a former Texas resident living in Oklahoma....I miss HEB!!!! My surgeon has requested that I use Pepcid instead of a PPI. But I didn't have reflux before surgery so it may be different for those already on a PPI. He wants us to take 20 mg twice daily for a year.
  24. Sleeved 12/20, I'm 40 lbs down from surgery and 71 lbs down from starting my program. Feeling great so far.
  25. Had a catheter with my sleeve. Wasn't terrible to remove but probably the worst part of my surgery experience so far.
  26. So, I second the opinions of many, almost all processed cereal is just sugar in a crunchy package. However, I have been curious about this solids/liquids mixture question. For example, my NUT had not problem with chicken and vegetable soup. The chicken does make me really full so maybe its a protein thing. One thing I have tried (NUT recommended) is some oatmeal with added flavorless protein. The calories and macros are similar to a protein shake so its nice to have something "breakfastey" to eat every once in a while.
  27. HW: 325 SW: 303 (12/20/17) Current: 262 Down 41 pounds in a little over 6 weeks. Some weeks I loose nothing, some weeks its 10 lbs. All in all, I have no complaints.
