Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for December 18th.... Dr. Oldham, in Louisville KY at Baptist East Hospital..(my first appointment was the end of June 2017. Insurance approved after 4 months supervised diet.) Surgery was put off a month due to a trip out of country at the end of November.).... I'm on my 10 day diet (3 shakes and 1 small high Protein, low carb meal daily.).... I'm excited and nervous all at the same time... But ready to win this weight loss journey once and for all.... Best of luck to you all!!!

Had my sleeve done on Tuesday Dec 5th. Got home Thursday. Doing better today. Chills and Sweats still. No pain meds since I've been home. Had my first bm today which surprised me after ready other posts of 10-14 days.

Got home last night. Surgery was a breeze. Recovery has its ups and downs. The first night I was in so much pain but they couldn’t give me strong pain meds because I didn’t tolerate them well. Next day I was up walking but still tight and sore. And of course I started the period from hell.
I have the worst pain from hiccups. After surgery I hiccup constantly. I only have four incisions the biggest one being in my belly button.

Sounds like me. I haven't had hiccups, but had some strong pains like I wanted to burp but couldn't like it was stuck. I have 4 incisions and a drain port. I got home on Thursday, surgery was Tuesday....no pain meds since I got home although I could have. Just didn't want the Constipation I've read about so much. Thank goodness I'm passed periods!! That had to be awful.

Hey Im getting sleeved December 19th. Going through pre op diet right now sure excited for surgery.

I'm also the 19th. Pre-op diet is pretty difficult for me. I feel hungry almost all the time. How is it for you? I'm going to Mexico so I'm pretty nervous. My dad was asking me about infection rates last night. Ugh.

Hi guys,

I had surgery yesterday 12/08/17 and I felt ok.. no nausea and started with ice chips then Water and now broths. No major pain other that a little more soreness in the bigger incision where they took my stomach out of.

Hi guys I'm 2 days post op and I still feel a bit sore at the big incision. I have a rolled up towel over it for extra pressure that feels better! I was discharged yesterday and working on the liquid intake[emoji4] up to 80 oz.. I don't think I'll make it to 80 but I'm going to try my best! Anyone out there have advice for Fluid intake post surgery?

Congrats!!! Hope you have a speedy recovery. The first few days I wasn’t hitting my Water goals at all but I was always sleeping. Yesterday I only took my pain meds at night so I was able to get to 56oz of fluids. Still not all the way there but close. I just sip sip sip all day. And I change it up water to broth to ice pops to watered down prune juice. Just make sure you stay with in your programs limitations.

I'm 2 days post op and I am burping like crazy! No gas though? Is that weird?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
