Not feeling like swallowing the food

Recommended Posts

So this is weird, not sure if anyone else has gone through this but it's gotten to the point of when I eat and I chew and chew and chew that the taste and texture is so off putting that I don't even want to swallow the food, most of the time I will just spit it out because I can't make myself swallow it.

The first few times I tried soft foods, that happened to me too. I'd suck all the juice or flavor out, then spit out the chicken or whatever. Sometimes I still do. Assuming it's normal.

I felt nauseated after I ate for the first month or so post-op. It made me think everything I ate was disgusting after I finished eating. I think this is your stomach getting used to the new you.

I am really sensitive about food texture. I don't chew all the time they advise. I never have. All I did at first was take smaller bites. Now at 2 years I pretty much eat the same way I did before.

If you are making yourself miserable and not getting your food in, that isn't helping you.

I have that reaction to tuna sometimes, I crave it, but when I actually get it..I'm done. I don't know what it is, but I throw it away after several bites. I have my good days and my bad days, lol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
